Originally posted by Starfired Totally? No. It's an MMO. You kill things, you collect things, you run around and party up with people. What's different (from WoW) is the combat and the way things are presented, they aren't as static and predictable, you don't have to manage threat in order to tank, underwater areas are actually cool (imo Vash'jr was an embarrassment of the highest order), earlier areas are still accessible and challenging regardless of your level, dungeons have mutiple paths with different bosses and rewards. Different enough to get a lot of MMO players interested in the genre again? Yes. Different enough that non-MMO players can join in without having to worry about remembering a rotation or being kicked from a group? Yes. no GW2 won't kill WoW, but it's time to move on and quit worrying about those people still playing it. - eyelolled |

Originally posted by Starfired Donate plasma then and buy both 1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical. 2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself. 3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose. |

Originally posted by Starfired You've already answered your own question... you stopped playing WoW for a reason. That reason hasn't gone away. MoP won't be any different than Cataclysm. You'll stop playing it too... for the exact same reason you stopped playing Cataclysm. #1 reason to buy GW2... you won't feel obligated to play it just because your sub hasn't run out yet. You'll just play it because you want to. If that isn't reason enough, nothing will sway you. |

Originally posted by Starfired its one of the first mmorpg to step away from the wow clone we have seen over the last 5 years or so. its different enough for me. just buy it and see, you say money is a problem but you have been subbing to games the last 6 months. buy GW2 get a few months fun out of it, what you saved in subs will buy you MoP if you dont like gw2. |

if you buy this MOP you can afford Gw2 too.
IMO the only Mop worth buying since I can't stand spending more then 10 minutes in WoW's archaic game style... Viva La REVOLUTION!!!! Guild Wars 2!
Seriously Buy Gw2 now get a few months of game play out of it, save that money you would have spent on a monthly SUB for WoW and then if you are sick of GW2, which I don't think you will be, Buy WoW's expansion and see if you suffer from Guild Wars 2 Effect... *You might end up feeling you wasted money on MOP* lmao IamApropos |

Please stop using the term invested. As a business minor, it's like nails on a chalk board when you say that. Just because you spent a lot of time on it like other people, doesn't make you obligated to spend even more on it. Unless you play competitively, it wasn't time invested. Financially speaking, go with GW2. With virtually the same box price as MoP, with no subscription, you can go and buy MoP months later at a discounted price. WoW isn't going anywhere soon, no matter what rabble GW2 fans are saying. |

I totally understand that it's hard to let go when you have spent so much of your time, energy and money in WOW or any other games. Many of my friends said the same thing to me about WOW as well. Let me ask you this...why did you stop playing WOW for 6 months? Isn't it because you were tired of it? So what makes you think MOP would be a total game changer this time around? Everyone thought Cataclysm was a game changer for WOW but we all know what happened with that. Also, did you still paid the subscription for those 6 months that you didn't play WOW? I hope you stoped the payment on that. If you didn't then you would of have more than enough money to buy both games anyway. I really can't tell you what to do but think about this, if you love WOW so much then why did you stop playing it for 6 months?

Originally posted by Starfired In my opinion based soloely on the fact that Guild Wars 2 is a newer game and you haven't played it and don't know what to expect, why not try it out. You know pretty much what to expect from Mists of Pandaria expansion since all the expansions are similarly the same thing over and over. The real question you should be asking is, " do I want to try out a new MMO or play the same MMO I've played for years".
My unbiased opinion, why not try out a new fresh game. You might like it more than the game you previously played. I mean there is no subscription fee either so you aren't really missing out, since you can pay for WoW and play that while playing GW2. You might as well play both and enjoy them for what they are.

if you invested so many years in that game maybe you should stay to it, in the last words i will say that its entirely up to your decision, do not let anyone be your brain...

Pardon my English... here is an idea... Well, if you have 3 kids and no money to spend, you definitely should not playing any games and you should investing your time to get rich so you can play games. |

Yah. Get both. I kinda refuse to believe you have money for only one :P. Cause wow has a a monthly sub and all and gw2 is a b2p and the cash shop is like wow's cash shop. |

Every feature in GW2 has been done before somewhere else. However, having all of these features together in a single MMO has never been done. So while it's technically nothing "new," it's definitely one of the more unique MMOs I've ever seen.
And that's why I love it. I got sick of playing games with 1-2 neat ideas while the rest of it sucked. |

So limited income (can't afford both) hard time constraints (3 kids). I have an idea, buy GW2, completely drop the WoW account, use the $$$ you save on subs, go out and play whenever you want to with your kids AND have no pressure to play WoW (since you won't feel like youa re wasting thqat $15/month by not playing). Sounds like a happier, healthier lifestyle to me!
