Yeah y'all pretty much dead like. When i see a leader or officers trying to recruit new member, it is same ol' thing.
RECRUITER: we have teamspeak3 and very active players. Oh no, you got a voice communication that's magnificient nobody has that and active players wow. Your guild has 10,000 and ofc there will be like 100 online.
Oh thank you,we all mature and fun and talk about sex. Oh my god, it is impossible to not know what i am doing so your community is best for me. People put you in a place like you don't know what you are doing, like a robot.
RECRUITER: My guild is mostly a hardcore PvP guild. Oh you mean you are the Gods Of The Arena. Nobody can't stand in your way.
Conclusion: most guilds out there pretty much dumb.

Yes yes and all human interactions that don't involve sex or violence are boring also. Life is boring. You want it to be exciting? Go do something dangerous.

Your attitude leads me to believe most guilds are quite happy that you're not joining them.

As someone who often uses these recruitment posts i can maybe clarify a couple of issues for you. Teamspeak/Ventrilo: We don't put that in to impress anyone, it is there so you know that we have it. There are guilds out there who do not use it, putting this in the description shows clearly that we are not one of those guilds. Guild Description: If the guild is advertising that they will give you direction that is part of their mission statement. If you need direction that is a good match for you, if you are someone who does not then you know this probably isn't going to be the place for you. Having this sort of info only empowers the player with more knowledge, that is not something to suggest guilds leave out. Guild "Hardcoreness": You may not care, but some care about this. I advertise my guild as "casual" because i do not want members joining who expect to be with people that give 100% every day to be the most dominant force on the server. We have a lot of members who simply want to roleplay or take it easy and hang with friends. There are guilds that DO advertise this sort of thing and they don't want players who are going to stand around taking screenshots and dying new outfits while they are trying to pvp as a group. Once again, this is simply there so you know not to join the wrong type of guild.
in conclusion, its not really the most successful and one and only strategy for recruiting members but just because you seem to not understand it doesn't make it dumb. besides pulling in recruits (and it really does) it also: leaves an avenue for others to find your guild if they are searching for you. helps guild recruiters outline their goals/strategies for how they want to recruit in game helps guild leadership clearly define the type of guild they wish to be and several other reasons... any further questions, i'd be glad to help you out. |
