Hi guys! :) So I was in GW1 trying to do a few quests yesterday when I read that a stress test will take place in around 27 minutes. I gave it time and tried to enter after the stress test were already going for like 10 minutes. Had the same issues with the last stress test in which I also gave up after a while because I was rather stressed through the fact that I either never managed to enter the game OR because my main character turned out to be unplayable because the "mission can't be found" (I left her in the area of the hunger battle royal when the server went down back in BWE3). So after I couldn't connect to the for around a hour and only managed to enter the game once for like 15 seconds before it dropped me out, I created a new character with which I was able to connect and enter the game after 4 attempts and managed to stay for like 5 to 10 minutes online with it before I crashed again and the "GW2 is not available at this time" or "check your firewall(by possible causes)" among other things appeared. Since I stopped trying and went to bed after, I wanted to ask here if other people had the same or similar issues (most of all the people that were in the hunger battle royal and logged out or was dropped through the server when it went down back at the end of BW3). - were there these issues only for the first hour again(I heard that it was like that in the stress test before that one)? - did you had the same issues as me or did the game work smootly for you? - is your main character also locked with the error that the mission can't be found when you try to enter the game with it, after you had logged out or got dropped from the server at the end of BWE3? The reason I'm asking all this is because I'm worried that my system might not "getting along" with the newest patches or that my antivir or anything else blocks the game without giving out a confirmation. |

In contrast it was all roses for me and a mate, we spent around 3 hours of the test in the eternel battlegrounds trying to complete that jumping puzzle off to the top right of the map, we were thwarted twice by a battleground reset and a server patch though and several PvP encounters.. No lag or other assosiated nasties - the only issue was I got stuck n the eternal battelground loading screen twice and had to force quit the game. [Edit] No wait I tell a lie my game froze a few times, music still going by screen frozen, this happened about 4 times and fixed it self after about 10-15 seconds. My friend on a lesser system also experienced some FPS slow down but he thinks it was loading some stuff. This was new to this test. |

It seemed like performance was slightly worse this go around, and there were lots of tiny graphical glitches like shaky grass in a lot of areas. I got stuck between at several loading screens as well.

Originally posted by Raekon Only issues i had were caused by me not reading their warnings and preparations for firewalls. I shut down active shields on Avast temporarily, avast is incompatible shows up on their login screen. I used an app called GameBooster it's free and shuts down unecessary crap that runs in the background for windows, god knows what it all does, never causes issues with any of my computers i've had over the years. frees up 40% of my ram. I even went to my firewall settings and setup the app and launcher and the three ports to be forwarded. that's it. The times i tried connecting last week i had horrible lag. continuous disconnects, game crashes that took over my desktop (couldn't force quit it). Since doing those three things haven't had a single system failure or crash since. I had a tiny bit of graphic lag today when my character encountered rain for the first time but after a quick patch (love how it autorestarts the client btw) the game ran wonderfully again. |

Originally posted by itgrowls Could you please give me the port numbers? :) Didn't knew about them yet so it might be one of the issues I'm facing. The issues first started with the last two stress tests though so I'm not sure if its really is that. Would still be good to give it a try! My collegue just told me that he had the same issue with his main after BWE2 cause he also disconnected in the event so in BWE3 couldn't login with his main cause he got the same error I'm getting now (the mission area can't be found). Other than that a huge thanks to all of you guys for sharing your experiences with me. Was very helpful! :) |

I tried doing the stress test, but when I double click my GW2 icon, I get the base loading screen with Guild Wars 2 written, but no login box or any other button. It just sits there till I crash it... it worked fine for the last one a few days ago :(

Then update your graphic drivers and flash to the newest ones and make sure to run the game as administrator in case you are under Win7 and didn't run it this way before. That could help with your issue. |

LAST time I had login issues. This time, there were performance issues and graphical artefacts (the mentioned grass flickering etc). Funnily enough, my wife's machine, with same graphic card but less overall power, could run the game much smoothly than me (after both used the auto detect settings) and the stress test before this, I had 0 performance issues and everything was awesome looking. So I hope release will combine the smooth login of the 15.8 with the smooth performance of the previous one :D Still do not know my class.... Elementalist, Necromancer or Warrior? aaargh.
