@bcbully The part of "play the way you want". I can't fully agree on that. During the first beta weekend I picked Blood Magic as first "weapon". The tl;dr version is that I was using single target DoT spells against groups of 3-5 zombies. Poisoning them one by one and running from them until they would drop. Bigger monsters would take ages for me to kill - if I was able to kill them at all. During the event weekend however I picked the rifle. This weapon allowed me to easily kill groups of zombies with the AoE and I was able to solo the first main story by the rifle's selfheal skills despite being undergeared. Alternatively there's the link for that guy whose built makes him almost unbeatable in pvp which was posted here today: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-6rQQhBKhM&hd=1
Having said this I point out again that people starting jumping at me because I am dissappointed I wasn't rewarded the 2 days extra despite having done about 50 missions the first weekend.
Now go ahead and flame if you feel you need to. |

Originally posted by Dakeru My comment has nothing to do with any of that..merely that you feel Funcom is punishing you by offering a 3 day trial. There were no guaranteed number of days for betas. Everyone I know was told to download before the weekend even started to avoid waiting.. I was lucky enough to get an ongoing beta. Well..not luck..I pre-purchased. How was it that you were only allowed a day to play? Then maybe I'll understand to what you are referring. |

Originally posted by BarCrow The point is I used their first kind offer. I played the game - I enjoyed it. I felt one or two more days would have been enough time to test the Blue Mountain area too.
So I am wondering why I as someone who was instantly interested in this game, get's less testing time than someone who didn't care until now.
Giving me those 2 days now since I already got the 30 mission achievement before seems fair. Not giving them to me because I already did this before others did, doesn't. |

Originally posted by Dakeru Simple, because the offer wasn't available back then. You could just create a new account to take advantage of this offer if you wanted to. It's just like asking when they did the first offer of 1200 points for completing 30 missions for their first month, to give me the points since I've already done more than 30 missions, or asking for your money back when there's a steam sale because you sometime in the past bought the game at full price. You just used the offer that was available back then, this is the offer that's available right now, and they really have nothing to do with each other. What can men do against such reckless hate? |

So I should bother to download this niche game just to try it out in 3 days? I'm not even going to bother downloading that for 3 days, even more to the point that I can't even play every evening. So I'll probably get like 2-3 hours tops? Yeah, that'll convince me the game's worth buying... 3 hours of gameplay vs. a month of reading on forums how game isn't worth the money plus it has a cash shop. ;) Thank you, but no thanks funcom. Originally posted by Psychow And lots of people don't have access to such a broad band. Here in Venezuela, where I live, I only have access to two kinds of internet speeds, dial up or 1024k DSL (that rarely breaks the 80 KB/sec limit when it should be 128 KB/sec). When the game came out it took me two full days downloading to get the game. What can men do against such reckless hate? |

95% of world = Broadband 5% = no as fast (numbers are for example only, not facts)

You don't have to know everything about everywhere but at least don't assume that because you have it others do. |

Originally posted by Dakeru Why were you using single target DoT's instead of Chain attacks? Just as the assault rifle has an area attack in the inner wheel, blood has a chain one that does more damage than the AR one and puts a doT on them, on top of that. if they die while that Dot is active they do AoE damge to nearbi mobs, too. For bigger mobs Blood has 2 attacks that do more damaga one, and the other if first you use the regular builder, does a LOT more damage than the AR finishers.
Right there you have very powerful options fro multiple enemies and single target ones in blood, far from what you describe.
Besides that, several bugs in several abilities, which made that AR build and several others to do more damage than intended were fixed before early access and didn't made it live. |

Originally posted by Dakeru OK. Makes sense. I can see how you feel somewhat penalized. I guess I'm just used to it. SWTOR tried the same thing with a 30day offer . Its just get the customer at all cost these days...unless you're already a customer. Guess they figure they already have you so why bother. I could by a whopper today then tomorrow they may be on sale for 99 cents but they surely won't give me 3 bucks back.(or however much the difference). TBH...I never felt "punished" by any of it but I did get tired of the nature of MMORPGS these days. I stopped playing TSW and all the others and sticking with online FPS games for now. I know better where I stand where the outcome is either win or lose and not whether I get that 1% gear drop I need without a hastle or fighting between 3 other players for it..just to have to upgrade it in the next dungeon/raid/expansion/whatever.. Now I just shoot them in the face or get shot in the face. No debate.lol.

Originally posted by L0C0Man You are not completely wrong. But this offer is in fact not a deal but a well placed advertisment. As such, being lenient and giving people who already earned the achievement the 2 days as well, would work better than telling them there's no more benefit in this for them - that they missed out. |

Originally posted by Psychow I said 24/7 electrricity. There are countries were they might have broadband but their electrical infrastructure is poor and have areas were they might lose electricity a couple of times a month. The problem here is assuming that because its not a problem for you it should not be a problem for anyone else. |

How come the official twit message posted here, saying that the trial time starts after your first login (not download) didn't stop the criticism on the gaming free time loss while downloading the game...
Start download today, finish in a month, log in... you have 3 free days... |

I suppose it'd be impossible to create a trial account, download the game (it takes 48 hours to download for some people apparently) and then create a second trial account and utilize the full 3 days. Oh well...

Sounds like an attempt to detrack as many if any away from GW2. So the same day that GW2 conducts a stress test just so happens to be the same day they start this three day trial? Not to mention they did it on the weekdays mostly when they know full well that the weekend is much more accomadating to players. Yeah I got my tinfoil hat on. |
