Take a look at the list. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_massively_multiplayer_online_role-playing_games
If yes, then who.
Thanks
UPDATE
As the poll taken shows. 18.5% of MMMORPG.com users polled feel that TSW is the best game since WoW. This is nothing to sneeze at.
MMORPG.com User rating (500 ratings) of 8.7 Metacritic User rating (1000 ratings) of 8.4
Low 1st month sales of TSW screams marketing issue. The game is without question solid, some people believe it's the best mmorpg since WoW.
Bottom line is, If you are on the fence, odds are you wont be dissapointed. TSW might even be the best mmo you've played since WoW.

Since "better" is a very subjective term, I would have to say yes, there are plenty MMORPG's that have been released since 2005, up to and including right now, that I think are better for one reason or another. CoV, LoTRO, TCoS, TR, GW, DDO, FE, just to name a few (and in roughly two weeks, GW2 will be better as well) A creative person is motivated by the desire to achieve, not the desire to beat others. |

MMORPGs are no longer about the mass multi-user anymore *sadly* |

Found 2 already, too bad both closed due to miss-management (TR and TCOS)

Subjective question, but i'd say yes. LOTRO 2007 and DDO 2006. However it's dificult to quantify this answer as it's all opinion and both DDO and LOTRO are now F2P, there were many better games released before 2005: SWG 2003. EvE 2003. WoW 2004. DAoC 2001.

Yes tons, but "better" is subjective.
I'm taking a shot of vodka every time I see a reference to a game being a WoW or Diablo clone. |

I can think of a few that are far better, in my opinon, for my playstyle. Ultima Online Asheron's Call Dark Age of Camelot (Pre-ToA) Planetside I would say Guild Wars 2, but honestly I only have beta weekends to compare, we'll have to see longterm. While I think it's great what I've played of it, only time will tell if I can add it to the above list for me.

Define "better". Going by better as "that you'd rather play": For me, right now there's nothing better, but looking forward to GW2, I enjoyed the betas but can't really say which one is "better", just "different". For a friend, UO is better. For another friend that's a comic book fan, CoH/V is better. For a cousin (10 years old) Cartoon Network Fusion Fall is better. For a niece (5 years old), Hello Kitty Online is better. For a nephew (17 years old), Runes of Magic is better. And so on. What can men do against such reckless hate? |

LoTRO, GW (if one considers it an MMO), City of Heroes/Villians (fun to play, has its limits, though), DandD Online had a better concept, not nearly as well introduced (though now DDO is a very viable MMO.), Lineage 2 (though it came out in 2003). And those are just AAA MMOs btw. There are F2P MMOs that are better (all around) than TSW. TSW has great storyline. Everything else is mediocre, and the no levels/classes is an interesting twist, though it really doesn't ADD to the game. And games that I'm looking forward to more than TSW (and I think will have just as good storylines in my opinion) are Neverwinter, GW2, PS2, and TESO (in that order).
EDIT: and EVE is STILL better than TSW and its been out since 2003. 2nd EDIT: I would give TSW a 7/10 and I am a leniant reviewer, who generally gives high scores to games that dont absolutely suck. This 7/10 has nothing to do with the launch problems/bugs either, even though many should have been fixed in beta. The main reasons for my 7/10 (I can explain my whole review in length if you really want me to) is: virtually no replayability (mostly due to linear storyline and no classes), mediocre combat at best paired with a system that has many useless skills and builds (this is a problem I have with WoW at present too, as well as other games), and no worthwhile PVP (which is a no-no for an MMO if you are going to implement it at all, imo). The lack of replayability is what scares me about it, though. An MMO NEEDS this, otherwise it will never hold the majority of an audience for much longer than an FPS single player. |

TSW couldn't hold my attention for 30 mins. The only MMO released after 2005 to do so was LOTRO, but that only lasted a week or two.

Don't know, never played it, but I can see where this poll is going. Might have been better to ask at the end of the year, has everyone had enough experience with TSW yet?
no GW2 won't kill WoW, but it's time to move on and quit worrying about those people still playing it. - eyelolled |

Voted yes, though i only tried the beta. To say i didn't get it was putting it mildly.
I guess it has a good story(though it didn't exactly keep me awake at night with suspension...) but the combat was atrocious, and the pacing was way off. A bit like SWtoR, just without that heavy IP behind it that makes you overlook all kinds of issues for atleast a couple weeks. For me Warhammer was the best MMO after 2005(for its PvP), followed by LotRO(for its PvE) ... and then it gets mighty shallow. For me personally maybe STO, yeah sure that game failed hard, but it held my full attention from lvl 1 to max ... a full week(longer than SWtoR). TSW didn't even manage a full day. Anyway hope that game finds its niche, it was different enough for sure. |

Besides the many mentioned, which I agree with: Shadowbane, hands down blows TSW out of the water IMO. Politics, City building, city sieging, tons of pvp solo/group/zerg, and some really good community members. TSW is a fine game, and I feel that it provides a good atmosphere and gameplay. The focus on endgame gear grind is just a stale mechanic for me and my mates. Been there, done that. I couldn't justify subbing to this game past the included month. Cheers! Although there are many things to like about TSW (theme, skill wheel vs typical levels), the game suffers from numerous little bugs that taken alone don't matter too much but in the whole are sub-breaking to me. I've enjoyed the launch of it, but I don't seem myself renewing (I actually renewed for the 1st month b/c I had a resurge of enjoyment, but that has now gone). Additionally, the game seems much less populated now that the first month is gone.
In answer to the question, yes, there have been plenty of better MMOs since 2005. Here is my list of better: DDO Vanguard LOTRO Aion Fallen Earth DC Universe Online Star Wars the Old Republic
Release a game with a very large established fanbase from 10+ years of bnet history when the market was still emerging and the casual base had not yet been established, thus ripe for harvesting a momentious self perpetuating playerbase people never leave because they have X hours invested in their characters, and their friends and everyone else plays anyway. Not discounting Blizzard quality... but WoW's success is as much about perfect timing as it is quality, if not more so. - Derros |

I can only speak for myself, but there are a lot of mmorpgs out there that are better than TSW, including many that have launched since 2005. TSW did a couple of things right imo, but the vast majority of what it does was horrible. I ca nnot get past many of the design decisions. I do wish it well though, as I know there are people enjoying it.
