Hey everyone, reccently i learned that Vanguard went free to paly. However, there were some restrictions put by SOE(Eww), such as no housing, or caravans, and a few other things. Could anyone with experiance tell me how this limitations will affect my experiance, and whether or not it's still worth it to play the game? I'm looking for a very in depth game with tons of crafting and such, and this looked very interesting. However, i simply can not pay a monthly fee. Thanks :)

There are a few threads you might want to look at in the Vangaurd forum that talk about f2p. Along with the debate about pros and cons with their system. They are on the first page so you should have a good start. |

Was really excited about vanguard going ftp, but the restrictions are way too much. The one that really turned me off is the limitation to what level of gear you can wear.

Yes you would have to potentially spend roughly $20 for a character reach max level and wear high end gear. Oh the the sky is falling....

Originally posted by Letsinod oh yes, give 20 bucks to a gaming company who has shown time and time again that thier playerbase is not thier top concern. but then again since 20 bucks is small change to you. why don't you pay for Slorg's character(or mine)
you got the cashflow :)

the restrictions currently are pushing a lot of people away from it except people willing to continue to pay for a sub. The playerbase is going up some but I think they still have not opened up free to play until the 14th for everyone . I could be wrong though but telon is still only hitting medium populations during primetime currently and the other EU server still is low
