In the graphics settings there was a setting that allowed to choose for supersample(default/subsample). Even on highest (slider full to the right) settingings it was set to default.  

When choosing it, it improved graphics a lot while loosing about 5-10 % of your fps.

Didn´t notice this settings in the earlier BWE builds.

When I cranked the Supersampling to High, it really messed with the colours for me. The grass looked grey all of a sudden... For me it looks a lot better with supersampling off.

It requires a lot of video card memory. Every image is buffered at a much higher resolution than it's rendered at, so with a weaker video card (like my HD 6870), using SS will kill your FPS. Besides, there's no big difference between 16X AF + some AA and supersampling. Of course, if your system is good enough, SS will make the image clearer.

Got a 7970M and it really made the difference.  made the world look so much better. 

I happen to have the Radeon 6970, still it messes up the colors for whatever reason. The grass goes from a lush green to green/grey. The FPS is not the problem, and yes the images look sharper, but the colours *cry*

This depends a lot on how much reserves your graphics card still has. I used an older card during the stress test, and supersampling cut my FPS by at least 40%. So be sure to know what you're doing, and be clever about what else you put on high settings.

Subsample actually lowers the picture quality. It renders the image smaller and stretches it to the screen size.

To the opposite, supersampling renders the image in higher resolution and then reduces it to the screen size. It's one of the oldest ways of doing full screen antialiasing, too. Quality is definitely higher, but the performance cost is usually quite big too.

Just barely. I had it locked at a stable 30FPS, but when switching to supersampling it dropped to 15-20. Depends a lot on what resolution you're running on, I'm only running at 1660x1200.

I can't draw a reasonable comparison to a 560ti, that's like comparing a Segway to a Porsche. It should be powerful enough if you don't go crazy with shadows, AA and reflections.
