On topic though , I agree that the challenge presented in the game is refreshing and that I personally would not invite a nerf to content difficulty. The challenging parts are easily overcome when player utilize the skill wheel appropriately. The game wasnt designed for players to pick a spec and run with it, the intent was for us to find multiple , versatile builds that could be adapted per the situation. If you get stuck, retool your build. If you cant fingure out how , or what to do , then this game is simply not for you.

Originally posted by Ambros123 It doesnt require the use of a certain deck, there are a great many viable combinations that can be created. The best way to play , IMO, is too create your own deck. Dont rely on the premade decks to serve all your needs, they are not intended to anyway. |

Originally posted by thark You CAN solo this game just as much as any other MMO. What people are really having trouble with is that no one is guiding them on Ability Point purchases. Most eventually get the hang of it or google one of the many builds out there.
The freedom of choice is a lot of fun for some of us but most people are used to being confined into a play-tested and balanced "class." Here, you have to do the balancing yourself.
Even the "decks" that Funcom came-up with to try to deal with this proactively don't quite do the trick since all of them are heavy on outer wheel abilities and don't help much in Blue Mountain or the beginning of Egypt by the time you really need solid builds.
I'm not about to pile-on those stuggling and call them stupid--It's perfectly OK to struggle with a brand new system...not everyone was in the beta you know. |

I really hate the dumbing down of this game. Im not elitist but i want something that makes me think as opposed to a "easy wow clone." Don't abandon your core player base. In recent tales: I was doing some lore finding and spotted one way up high which required some plat form mechanics. I thought to myself "there is no possible way they would make the content this hard to get to" sure enough it was. And i was overwhelmed with a sense of accomplishment when i finally got that lore peice. |

Originally posted by Ambros123 Why is it an issue? If people are finding it too hard then move along, try an easier game, there's plenty of them around. Every day I'm in game the world is buzzing with activity, I'm sure the developers won't miss a couple of WoW kiddies who couldn't handle the game. |

Originally posted by Iselin As I havent really solod in so many occasions myself, unless the game tells me to or I'm waiting for friends..But I know It's possible to do it as I have atleast a few friends who has done it on ALTS etc(Not the entire way yet ) Maybe FUNCOM could design a specific "Brave loner" deck that is included in the decks ? A deck that is abit easier to reach in the earlier pfases of the game.. |

I'm happy with the game AS IS (except for Fusang faction imabalances on many servers, but I can live with it for now).
There have been a couple of times when I was frustrated with the difficulty, but I understood that meant I was doing something wrong. When I stepped back and thought about what I needed to change, or how I had to approach the situation differently, it has worked out for me.
I've read people saying the game is really hard in Blue Mountains, or Egypt, or wherever, but I haven't found that to be the case at all.
By the way, to OP, is there a specific reason you are worried? Have Funcom anywhere indicated that they would make anything easier? Or have they actually nerfed anything yet? I don't know. If they have done so, then I would worry. |

This game is so casual already, I cannot believe anybody can find it difficult. That's the reason I don't play it, not enough challenge for me. So I am with the OP, if the game gets any more easy, it will completely kill it. I hope Funcom sticks with what they've done so far...............and actually if they decide to make it a bit harder and do something about the awful combat, I might even think of playing it. |

The game isn't too hard, but some of the investigation missions are misleading and illogical. Many are badly written, most have plot holes and solutions which require trial and error because there is no actual researchable solution. More than once I have had to ask for help solving an investigation mission and the answer is always the same, it's broken or it makes no sense. Hours of wasted gameplay chasing rabbits down holes that never existed to begin with. This is frustration, this is annoying and this is one reason some players wrongly use the phrase "it's too hard". Simply because it's not too hard, it's unsolvable or it's broken/bugged and nowhere does it tell you not to waste your evening on this badly written mission. Re-ran Kingsmouth for the weekend event and found so many broken missions that worked the first time around for me, people are asking for help in general and get yelled at for not knowing there is a Mission Hints channel, christ the go-to response now is use Mission Hints or i'll report you...the same is true in dungeons as well, your not always combating the game mechanics, often now your trying to circvumvent the bugs, new bugs that they have yet to address, acknowledge or fix. It's Warhammer all over again. Hard? No. Frustrating? Yes. |

Originally posted by Zinzan Um.. exaggerate much? I've been playing since pre-order and have seen a handful of bugs at most. I've NEVER had a bug in a dungeon, haven't even heard of one, so what you're doing to cause them I don't know. The investigation missions had a couple of instance based bugs that I heard of, but switching to another instance fixed it, plus those bugs are now gone. So, uh.. nice wall of text you've got there, but I have to disagree with what you've posted. |

I like it hard....what I do not like is standing around argatha for hours on end as a DPS because the developers did not have the foresight to understand that a LFG system is very much needed i na gear centric vertical progression MMO. Without a LFG system it breaks down to hours on end of endless and needless boredom because the game only has 1 way to play at endgame.

Originally posted by Zinzan Well..Some of the bugs ..yes there are some..tend to frustrate people in exaggerating the whole thing..like you..I think I have played from Kingsmouth to Egypt..and done all the quests..there is a few known per zone, some is fixed and some has arisen again..The problem is when something is unclear with a quest, some pleayers always assume it's buggy etc,, I haven't yet seen ANY bugged investigation quests.. Dungeons..Well..You make it sound as if there is one in each dungeon..I guess you are refering to the one in Hell Fallen ? Yes the boss is bugged..and it's odd and frustrating..But hardly anything to worrie about.. |

Funcom already made the game easier. Yellow outline? Didn't use to be there. Looking things up in the phonebook? That wasn't hinted at at first AND the shops you have to visit weren't highlighted. Mind you, there is hard and there is boring. Take some of the translation puzzles, once you figured them out, translating the entire message gets kind of boring. Figuring out how to translate is fun, doing the translation... not so much. And some mobs (mushrooms in vampire country) are just ugh to hard. Taking damage is one thing, loosing 4k in 3 hits. A bit much. There is in games a tendency to take a joke to far. Like the jumping levels in SWTOR where datacrons were behind endless high precission jumps. Wheee! Did anyone else LIKE the spy missions in Kingsmouth where you walk 5 meters from guards in broad daylight in red clothes and aren't spotted? Or how about the main story quest where you infiltate a building and have to deal with guards that only appear AFTER you are spotted by them? The game is pretty good when it is good but when it is bad... well... it is very bad. |

If they lose enough subs they will change it to appease the masses.....EQ and EQ2 both used to be hardcore games until a few started whining and subs dropped.....And like many have said TSW isn't that hard but it is made to be too much of a solo game so people will want to solo it all the way.
