Does SLI work and does the game use multiple cores on the cpu?

I can't test SLI because I don't have SLI, but the game is using all cpu cores.

sorry i have another question
Say I have a 6870 video card... then I'm on an old Q6600. 6GB of ram DDR2.
If you were to guess, would I struggle playing on 1920x1080? From my experience in BWE1, it was playable with high/med settings but not entirely smooth, felt rugid at times.
I think about going lower resolution, |

Originally posted by kluu Use the "auto detect" it works well to find out the settings for your computer. I have a Q9400, which is a bit stronger that your CPU and a 5850 GPU. I was playing on 1920x1080 with the auto-detect settings without issues. In large scale battles in WvWvW performance dropped a bit, but I think it was because the game wasn't using the GPU as much there (oddly enough) I already sent a bug report about it Block the trolls, don't answer them, so we can remove the garbage from these forums |

MMORPGs are no longer about the mass multi-user anymore *sadly* |

Originally posted by kluu I have SLI since a week now. Tried it in the stress-test yesterday evening, but GW2 is still not optimized for GPU usage -> CPU has all cores on 100% and GPUs are on 10% or so >:( Fun to mention is that when I launch the GW2 loader, both GPUs are showing more activity then in-game (approx 25%). Not sure why that is, but I guess it means that GW2 will support SLI at release. Demigoth's RPG adventures ~ My blog ASUS M4N72-E |

I have an i7 920 and it runs on all cores. I also have two HD5770's Crossfired and would realy like to know if these are going to be optimally used. Two HD5770's is fine - one is average, so it will make a lot of difference to me. Having said that, had a blast in the stress test last night and noticed a real difference to the appearance of the game with the AA finally active. Would be nice to hear from ANet on this issue. |

Judging by their wording of "AMD CrossFire™ and NVIDIA® SLI™ are not currently supported.", we'll be getting support for them at some point. |

Originally posted by Caliburn101 Pretty much why I have always prefered one single high end card than two slower ones. Money wise, you end paying the same (if not less), but you are not annoyed by compatibility and optimization problems. In my opinion, unless you have a huge resolution (like 3 or more 1280x1200 screens), SLI/CROSSFIRE is pretty much useless and is only asking for unnecessary trouble for minor performance gains. |

Originally posted by The_Korrigan I bought the rig two years ago for Age of Conan which has very demanding graphics - I just use one screen although it's a biggie, and don't need all the power with GW2, but it would be nice to have high frame rates in WvWvW - it's great everywhere else and perfectly acceptable as it is now in WvWvW anyway.... Fingers crossed it isn't too long before they make it compatible. |

XFire does not work(last weend i finally managed to play with it on with out the game crapping out on me), and it seems to be utilizing 1-2 Cores since on a quad core CPU with it runnig the overall CPU load never went beyond 40-50% even with junk like Skype, and even an instance of Microsoft SQL running in the backround. The memory requirements of the game seemed to be improving, it no longer yanks 3.8GB of memory like it did 3-4 beta weekends ago. It seemes to run pretty stable now on my 7850(OC edition) at around 70FPS with everything set to its highest setting @ 1980x1200. |
