Nope, I already thought about that, but preordered is same as playing the game as soon as avaliable.

I think this type of thread/poll has popped up several times over the past few months on random sites.  The bottom line to this is that GW2 isn't your typical p2p mmo where players don't want to get invested into the game, signing up for a sub and hoping that it can entertain.  All of us can buy this game right away for no more than around $60 and play it whenever we want --- for as long as the game is live.  I really don't see a reason to not buy it right away unless you're SO cheap/broke that you want to wait for the base GW2 price to drop.

I'd say for some that could be all the more reason to wait and let the dust settle before jumping.

Actually it's not.  It's playing the game 3 days SOONER than it's available to the general public.  Technicality, but....still not quite the same.  As soon as it's available to US is sooner than it's available to most, so....whatever though, whatever.

I certanly considered that, but unfortunately the general MMORPG forum is about things that are in general about MMORPG's. This thread is focused directly at one specific MMORPG, GW2.

And then again many who are not interested about GW2, but want to get some extra info come by here just for that.

GW2 will be best enjoyed after the first few months  and the hype has died off, along with the mindless zerg.  DE that make up the majority of GW2 gameplay are extremely boring and mindless when zerged to death but can be very enjoyable with a decent sized group that isn't simply overwhelming the event.

I've played BW3  to 20+ on norn and  charr and have no intention of buying the game anytime  before it has died down on the over hyping of it's greatness.
