Nvidia naming conventions. The first number is the generation 6 being the most current. The second is the range. 550 is kind of mid range. I would buy an 460 / 560 or higher for gaming purposes.

just buy a good and cheap graphic card  like 550ti or 560 SC or TI or even gt 640 is worth the 100$ and can run the game just fine

Being that you have argued with more than one forum user about the definition of a high-end card, and been proven incorrect more than once, and then state there is little point in arguing...

That is something you should consider being the argumentative one making incorrect statements.

You even went as far to say a high-end card was one that could push a modern game on high graphics... that's pretty subjective, my mid-end card can push many modern games on the highest settings, depends entirely on the game.

1 x Nvidia GTX 560ti and I can 5box in GW2 (tested by a family member with the exact same build as me during BW3, and she had settings on "Medium" for each account).

You'll be fine with anything around the 560 Ti.

Holy Crap, the 480GTX came back as a (Fermi)! Production was haulted on the 480GTX about a year or so ago to push newer card designs. Yet, the newer 480gtx (fermi) is easily in the top 10 cards atm.

I wish my old 480GTX hadn't died on me last year :'(!

Personally I have played BE 1-2 on an nvid 285 gtx on medium settings fine. Dual core.

I played the last BE with a 7970HD factory OC and an i5 3570 slighlty OC, on highest possible settings.

While the latter was ofcourse prettier and ran with higher fps, the former was perfectly fine as well. GW2 does not require you to have a high end, or enthusiast setup. It does require you to have from lower midrange and up, if you want to play hazzle free.

Try and play any 2012 top game on highest settings and the cards will burn misserably..

Not being able to play the game with those cards will probably mean that AMD failed to update their drivers for GW2, where Nvidia succeeded
