Well, studying is always a great thing if you want to have a shiney future. However, having fun is also as important because it will give you the will to resume ur studies, that if you have a self-control. So, I would suggest you to buy the game if you have the will to play it, well, let´s say 1-2 hours a day when u don´t have exams. U maybe have bad self-control and end up playing 5 hours, well, in this case .. play only in week-ends to not miss up ur future. If you can´t control urself at all, just go to buy a Coca Cola and have a nice day. Personally, I use to play many MMOs and still have university. I just play some hours a week to calm down and chill out a little bit and it has been working for some years now. Though I do have self-control, in this case

Definitely good to focus on school. However, based on the OP I would suggest maybe working on some self discipline. If you have trouble with time management (and it sounds like you might), it's not going to get any easier after college. |

I am in the same boat. Finished my last summer finals today and start fall semester Aug 17th. That being said, I prepurchased the day they allowed it and I don't regret it one second nor do I anticipate it affecting my schoolwork since I am a pro at time management (go military). The fact is school is important, but the game has no sub so you can enjoy it when you do have some leisurely time. If you can't find the time to enjoy GW2 every once in a while then maybe playing games is something to concidder stopping all together for the time being because Anet has made it about as accessible as you can get in the MMO genre. Not an insult, just a fact that if the important things are soaking up THAT much time, you won't be able to enjoy ANY game for the same reason you mentioned here. Originally posted by FlawSGI This is why I play basically nothing but Mount and blade Warband or Total wars games (mostly shogun2 recently). Also I wouldn't automatically assume the OP has a time management problem like many, instead I'd first presume it's more about wanting some form of social life as well, which is my main reason for lack of gametime, with a busy work week (and most weekends) It's hard enough to balance seeing people and getting out, let alone getting sucked into a game that requires a bit of a time commitment (any MMO even GW2). Originally posted by Distopia I agree with you and I didn't assume the OP had time management issues, only I wasn't concerened with my own time because I don't have them. As I mentioned Anet has made GW2 one of the most accessible. Also to note, they added an in game clock so while I can understand getting lost in MMO's, there are clocks and timers and alerts everywhere if you are the type that is prone to this. If you want to play the game and the reason the OP listed is the one thing keeping you back, then I mererly counter with reasons this shouldn't be an issue. I make no assumptions. Nice to see people come to the aid of others, only it was misguided on this one. RIP Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan and Paul Gray. |

Originally posted by FlawSGI Just for clarity only the yellow portion of my post above was in full reponse to you, just saw many before your post bring up the time management bit. I expected A-net to expand on the reminders this time around, they used them in GW1 as well. School will always be an option, but GW2 only has one first day ever! (I'm kidding, GW will always be waiting, school will change your life, ideally for the better, forever, go to school, play on weekends the first week is pretty lax anyway right?) mmorpg.com/blogs/Xobdnas |

This is a good thing, MMO's are bad for life anyways, you are better off to stay away from silly games, and go get an education, so good for you skipping the purchase of this game.
good luck at school |

No, go and preorder it. Do it, do it now. You know you want to. Just close your eyes and finally press that "finish deal" button, just do it right away, you'll know that you will end up doing it anyway.
I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention. |

Originally posted by chopstix906 Not really, most of us aren't free the entire summer. But there is no hurry, buy the game when you have time to play instead. The game just wasn't in shape at the beginning of the summer and releasing it back then would have hurt the game a lot just to make some students happy. And in worst case scenario you have something to do next summer... |

Why not? its not like you have to pay a sub monthly. Buy it play it when you got some time, its only college.... we all need a happy fun time, cant study 24/7 and not go crazy. And like I sid theres no sub, no obligation that you have to play to get your sub fee worth cause there is none! how cool is that! |

After classes start try to figure out your free time. They don't want you to bury yourself in work because that is ultimately counter-productive. If you are like most people (me included) and like to do things about 4 hours before the class then it might be best to wait. The date is smack bang in the middle of my classes (started july) and I'm not complaining. Pre-ordered. Slept late. Monday is hell because 'One more DE' on sunday evening. Just doing the daily achieves will net me a CS item. That only takes half an hour. Play for fun. Play to win. Play for perfection. Play with friends. Play in another world. Why do you play? |
