Hi all. I haven't played in any of the betas, and I have heard a lot of performance concerns with mid to low end PCs. I was wondering how you think it would run on my computer. I bought a gaming laptop a couple years ago. It was really good then, but now I wonder. It runs Skyrim really well, TERA meh.. decently, and WoW quite well. I want to make sure I can enjoy GW2 on decent settings!
Specs: Intel i5 M 430 processor @ 2.27GHz NVidia Geforce GTS 360M Video Card with 1GB RAM 4GB RAM (not sure the speed of it) Thanks for your help!

Well the problem is that all the beta's and stress test were Processer locked. Except high end I7's.Some did utilize your GPU but not all. I did see my GPU being utilized and my CPU but not all cores. My Fiance use to run a dual core AMD with a 1g 5 series Ati and she had major issues. We just upgraded her last week to a Quad AMD 8 and a Ati 6 series and her perfomance in the last beta was amazing she had everything maxed with no lagg....
The problem you may face is you will be able to play it mid and enjoy or even high but when you come across tons of texture rendering I.E lots of Peeps/Cities even large bosses you will have major lag.I would say you will be okay as 90% of the CPU's were locked and GPU's weren't being utilized. I do know that if you are running an I7 you won't face any issues as Anet has stated the game was built around the I7 platform so obivously that makes it easier.As for me I ran maxed out on Eyefiinity with all shadows and all rendering. my set up is as follows: I7990x 3.4 OCd to 4.7 Two 6970's 2 gig XFX on X-fire (game didn't utilize crossfire ;-( but was using 60% of my primary GPU) 24 Gigs of ram @ 2200fsb 200gig SSD (fast load times but not a big diff between mine and my fiances 10k Raptor) 3 30 inch Asus LED's.

Vaelgard, I think your laptop will run it. But only barely. Your gfx card is really not all that great.

It runs things incredibly well at its native resolution (1300whatever x 768) but it has a lot of issues when I try to maximize the resolution for my external monitor at 1920x1080. I wonder how GW2 looks at 1300x768. I know that WoW looks like crap, but Skyrim looks great. Hmmm. |

My friend played on my dual core amd 2.8ghz w 6 gigs of ram and an old nvidia card w 256 mb. Though he didn't get the greatest performance it was very playable. I think you will be good but wvwvw is where I could see you having the most problems. Hope this helps... |

Gw2 works at lower resolution. Trying to play gw2 at full hd resolution with your laptop won't work. I tried going 1900x1200 with my significantly much better laptop and I lost a LOT performance wise.

The GTS 360 is a decent card and will run it at 1366x768 with no problems I'd imagine. edit: misread |

My machine isn't much better or worse than anything I've seen on here. It was running smoothly for me at certain times; but, during peak hours it got a bit laggy; but, I figured it was doing that because it's not fully optimized. Though I did read that some people were having CPU issues. The game was over using their processors. It's suppose to be getting taken care of according to a comment that the devs made on the subject. |

Thanks for all the help guys. I'm glad that the game looks ok at 1366x768. The reason I asked was that obviously the laptop cards are really optimized for low resolution, plus WoW looks like absolute CRAP at 1366x768, as does TERA. As long as the UI and stuff scale down well enough, I should be happy! |

In hugely populated areas it runs around 20fps, fairly smooth frame rate with V sync enabled. Everywhere else it runs around 30fps give or take a few depending on the area. FYI this is with balanced settings, windowed mode and Sound quality on HQ.
