(ziiiiiiiiiiiip, flame suit on, beer in one hand, extinguisher in the other, bring it on) After coming back to WOW to fill the GW2 sized hole in my heart I have had to do some reconsidering of GW2. You see, at first I felt GW2 was pretty good, pretty fun, and somewhere that I could call home until something really moved me. Not a giant step forward but more like a .5 as far as moving the MMORPG genre ahead. I thought it did just enough to edge out the other kids in the crowd in order to earn my dolla dollas. After WOWing for a few days I now realize it does more than enough and my hype is actually increasing. Going back to WOW made me realize how much better GW2 is. Not knocking WOW, it's a very good theme park but if we had to rate them I think I came up with a perfect system. WOW is like a single wide trailer park (you think it's nice, but you lived there your whole life, then one day you go to your cousins double wide park and realize your single wide park just isn't as good), GW2 is like a double wide trailer park (it's nice, clean, has a ball diamond and a nice park with a walking path, and residents even have lawns), so I suppose SWTOR is one of those temporary RV trailer parks (where they start out the year with a festival and a bunch of campers, then throughout the year numbers dwindle down until winter when the only people left are those crazy campers that burrow into the ground and refuse to ever leave despite the world going on without them, passing them by in the process like a lonely ship uninhabited and anchored in the middle of a stream of MMO progress, sad really). mmorpg.com/blogs/Xobdnas |

I disagree. WoW is like a single wide trailer park - yes. SWTOR is like a temporary RV park - yes. GW2 is like a 5 bedroom deluxe detached house with a swimming pool and your own stables ;) Cluck Cluck, Gibber Gibber, My Old Mans A Mushroom |

I agree GW2 is better, as for everything else you said I can not comment on as I have never been to a trailer park. |

You haven't lived until you've spent some time in a trailer park. It's like that show My Name is Earl combined with that movie Raising Arizona, with a Arrested Development thrown in. mmorpg.com/blogs/Xobdnas |

I have to agree with the WoW comparison. I think it has a great story and I like the artstyle to an extent but it just isn't engaging enough compared to GW2.
Dear developers, In my humble and inexperienced opinion if I can get through all the content you spent the last 5+ years working on within 6 months you have not done your work justice. Please give me, and everyone else, some tools to create our own content from what you have made so I can stay in your world and appreciate it longer than three weeks before I say "meh". It's a shame and I'd rather not do that to something you put so much of yourself in to. |

SWTOR is an RV park that gets hit by a tornado once a month. |

WOW is a condo, GW2 is a Townhouse |

Where does that put Rift? A single wide trailer park but it has a quaint greasy spoon cafe where the eggs won't give you the runs? What about AoC? A stripper bar on the edge of a trailer park?
All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick. |

WoW is like a wife. Something you need to work at. All of it's faults are laid bare and what was never annoying becomes more so after every day, after day, after day. EDIT: And if you ever leave you lose a lot of friends and all of your stuff. GW2 is like a new girfriend. All of its faults are overlooked as you are to busy enjoying the ride...or something like that.

Wow is like an attractive girl. Gw2 is her hotter sister you wish you had seen first. [mod edit] |

A friend of mine sent me a resurrection scroll like a month ago. I was able to create a level 80 character right of the bat. I played for a week and then decided to subscribe for a month because I was a bit excited since I was in need of some RPG fix. Then BWE3 arrived...and I managed to get a beta key. Long story short, I cannot login to WoW again no matter what. GW2 spolied me bad. I just pre-purchased GW2 and I feel like I wasted 15 usd on WoW. |

never could stand WoWs graphics myself, gameplay wise it was ok but I bought it at release and played a mage to 25 and said enough. Went back to SWG and EQII. oh for all those trumpeting the demise of ToR, it still seems to be pulling the people. My sub expires Wednesday and I am not planning on renewing , but just saying. The rumors of it's impending death are completely exaggerated Anyway to me WoW was like a 60's VW hippie van with a bent axel I watched web traffic during the last BWE, GW2 is not a WoW killer or a ToR killer or even a TSW killer. Biggest drop in traffic ws from GW1, not surprisingly. Gonna be a long 3 weeks for me until it's release though.....
sorry for rambling |
