I think people that prefer a WoW experience will try out the expansion [regardless of them liking GW2 or not] and people looking for a more structured experience than GW2 will have something to try. It might cause a dip in GW2 population but thats hard to predict or even blame on the WoW expansion since a number of players are likely to take breaks from GW2 to begin with. Not like GW2 has a sub to track whose paying[and potentially playing] and whose not. |

I'm in the GW2 camp. I love it. I use to love WoW, but it became old and boring to me. So I moved on. For me this expansion means nothing; however, there are those that still love WoW that will be very happy with it. I have no ill will toward the game or its players, but I have no plans to return. It's like EQ1, one of my first loves, is still running. I'm not running back to it either. |

Originally posted by Lord.Bachus Time alone will tell for that particular issue, but for what its worth, my money is on WoW, simply because Blizzard do know their players, and yes, i do think it will be something that brings any lapsed players back for 'another go' ... they always do, how long they stay, is another issue of course. As to whether this will affect GW2.. how could it, there isnt a sub to cancel for the game, so its pretty much a none issue, people who are going to be playing it, have already bought it. And a month is certainly long enough for the players who have bought GW2 to decide if their going to be playing it long term or not, so any players that leave to play WoW, would probably have been leaving anyway. |

I'll have been playing GW2 for a month and should have a good feel for the game by then. Have a annual pass for WoW so they have me till March so I'm fairly certain I'll be buying MoP when it comes out as well. Nice thing about GW2 is there isn't a sub fee so playing both won't be a kicker if I end up playing one more than the other. If end up not liking MoP after March I'll just drop my sub but I'm fairly certain one of those two or maybe both will get a good amount of play time. Sounds like a win win for MMO gamers. |
