Originally posted by liliyo How is that a fact, when GW2 wasn't even released yet. I dont remember a single feature that Bioware or Mythic would lie about to be SWTOR or WAR, they just hyped sub-par features, similar to GW2. REALITY CHECK |

It will have big initial sales
Then it will have a biggish drop when all the wowites buggering off back to wow when they realise they can't win through gear. Then it will see a steady rise over many months as the "rest of us" think thank his an mmo that doesn't suck up to the spoilt rotten raider / loot obsesives minority |

If we remove wow's heavily inflated 10 million number from the asian markets that don't even pay subs which is rumored to be more around 4 or 5 mill, I say yes it could possibly top those numbers here in the west based on the percieved general feeling of gamers all around and having played the game myself, the no sub also helps majorily I know personally people that don't ever touch sub games but have bought GW2. |

Originally posted by Thillian How would you know they are sub par if you haven't played the game? They are, in fact, above par - above average implementation of features - as such liliyo is 100% correct. Factual and accurate. TOR, Illum didn't/doesn't work - WvW in GW2 works and works well. WAR - castle siege/capture and such barely worked (not really at all) and they cut 6 cities and 4 classes before launch, GW2 has all content they promised in game, and we've played it / tested it - it works. Just two examples... MMO History: |

As a big fan of Rift, I still had to vote this:
"It will be the most successful MMO post WoW" |

Successful, but a niche game in a similar sense to GW1. Reasoning: Oversaturated market, limited marketing, different appeal than typical P2P title, unknown replayability. Release a game with a very large established fanbase from 10+ years of bnet history when the market was still emerging and the casual base had not yet been established, thus ripe for harvesting a momentious self perpetuating playerbase people never leave because they have X hours invested in their characters, and their friends and everyone else plays anyway. Not discounting Blizzard quality... but WoW's success is as much about perfect timing as it is quality, if not more so. - Derros |

Most people havent even heared or considered playing GW2, this will be the first game since WoW where sales gradually will continue. Mouth to mouth advertisment will make sure of that. This game you cna join 3 months after release without fearing to find empty zones all over the place. Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) |

Over time GW2 will slowly overtake a declining Wow.. It is possible but only time will tell us if anet can pull it off.. The safe bet however would be option 3...
Playing GW2.. |

Originally posted by grimal GW1 is the second best selling MMO of all time in the West, and GW2 is far more ambitious, far more heavily marketed, and has far larger release sale predictions. I highly doubt it will be "niche." |

Originally posted by khamul787 Not entirely true, because you have to see that GW1 was actually. 4 sepperate games, so you have to divide the numbers by 4. Its hard to compare games with different merchandise models with eachother.
And so you can not compare GW2 to the orriginal GW either.
The poll prooves so far that people belive GW2 will be atleast the best MMO since WoW Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) |

Will do ok for few months, until most players grow bored with it. Just like any other new MMO. "The person who experiences greatness must have a feeling for the myth he is in." |

Originally posted by BadSpock Very logical. I agree. Sidenote: you have a bit too many options in the poll ;) Holy Trinity who art in our MMORPGs! Blessed be thy speccs, as in WOW so in all MMOs!
