Sylvari Engineer anyone?

who say Sylvari are only proper with Elementalist and Ranger?

Engineer Sylvari looks bad ass!

The story line per se doesn't matter much to me but it does add a good bit of XP.

I am looking forward to the Sylvari and the Asura more than the others (Norn was fun in Beta, though).

Its tough choice to create in beta weekend or not.  I don't want to experience gameplay until launch but I can't wait....damnit

I'll definitely won't play one. 3/10 from me.

Im really shocked with the sylvari, i had zero interest in playing them and was fine with my human female toon, but after giving them a trial run... im hooked on them, the nighttime glow effect is amazing

in terms of storyline nope it doesnt (and i am not talking only for swtor wich also btw has better story than gw2 sry dude)

arenanet still has tons of work to do in that area but the rest yes it totaly put swtor to shame

Yeah kinda. It reminds me of Perfect World or Jade Dynasty or some other Korean fantasy f2p games. Graphics are more detailed and crisp for sure. But the overall aesthetic resembles these games a lot imo.

 

It looks like the Maguuma Jungle from the first Guild Wars, the place where the City is supposed to be set after 250 years time.  Consider that many of the locations in Guild Wars 2 already existed in the original game which launched well over seven years ago and which went into development before several of the major online games that launched around the same time.  I'm sure the designers drew influences from other places, but a lot of the sights and sound sof the new game are improvements, growth and stylizations of the old. 

Also, in response to the original poster and  many commenters throughout: the Sylvari lore has basis in fae lore.  They seen to me more similar to the dryad type of fae creature than any sort of elf, though modern elven and fae stories have similar roots.  If you are familiar with Irish folklore you will see many echoes of it mixed with several other cultural flavors in the Sylvari names and philosophies.
