EA makes bad games and horrible MMOs, at least recently. (It might sell a bunch though, depending on how much they pushed it) |

It's a game from 2004, when or if it ever dies by the time it happens will it seem like a victory to people that are for some reason obsessed with killing WoW? |

Really? Another WoW killer thread?
That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming! |

Who cares about "killing WoW". Play what you enjoy and that need to kill a game you don't like will disappear, move on already. Also if they remade UO with a thempark design then it wouldn't be UO, just another game that no one will play. |

I would want a horizontal-progression (loose term here) 'sandbox' MMO. Played - M59, EQOA, EQ, EQ2, PS, SWG[Favorite], DAoC, UO, RS, MXO, CoH/CoV, TR, FFXI, FoM, WoW, Eve, Rift, SWTOR, TSW. |

I don't know what your deffinition of "WoW killer" is, as many people have different views. Generally, for a game to "kill" WoW it would have to get most of WoW's player base to defect to it to the point it would drive WoW out of business permenently. That said, since WoW numbers showed little fluxuation means LoL had little or no impact what-so-ever. If anything, League of Legends probably killed many small no-brand-named-mmos we're unaware of in it's wake. The only way for WoW to die, as many have mentioned already, is for Blizzard to kill themselves(literally or financially). Majority of people in WoW are ultimately "stuck" there due to hardware limitations(yes, not everyone is as rich as you), unable to ditch friends/family/guild/hardearned-equipment etc. Probably hundreds of people leave WoW everyday, but, for every person that leaves WoW, there will always be someone to replace him/her.

as said before, only blizzard can kill a blizzard game. and this might happen in the case of WoW in about 2 or 4 years when titan is released :) "believe me, mike.. i calculated the odds of this working against the odds that i was doing something incredibly stupid… and i did it anyway!" |

Todays UO is a themepark design. |

The day of super huge themeparks is over. UO would fail as a themepark too. It would only piss off vets, and anyone looking for a sandbox game anyway. Anygame looking to get 1mil + subscribers will eventually fail early.
The only way UO would make a comeback is if it was redone as a sandbox with better pvp elements, like the option to flag onself pvp, or pvp between guilds, or specific areas are pvp. UO2 would have to turn itself back into the pen and paper virtual game (ability to be anything do anything model) it used to be, just bigger. To me UO2 would be a success even if it was only able to get 100-300k subscribers. |

These threads perplex me. The OP will ask a silly question and then never even join the conversation. You'd think that if people were that bored, they would at least conjure up an engaging thread, and then engage in it to have something interesting to do. #TeamVainlash |

There will never be a WoW killer, in the sense of a new game coming along getting the same kind of numbers as WoW in it's heyday. WoW was in the right place at the right time to become a massive game. That time and place are forever gone. There will never be another game as popular or large as WoW. Stop wishing for it. It won't happen. Played: UO, EQ, WoW, DDO, SWG, AO, CoH, EvE, TR, AoC, GW, GA, Aion, Allods, lots more |

Originally posted by Danrlei Has any MMO ever been attributed with causing the decline in subs of another MMO? That aside, your answer lies in what you would add, remove or change about UO. Could you elaborate on that? filmoret: One thing I have never figured out is why the game devs hardly ever fix simple problems that arise. It is like they don't care about the pvp community. Nitth: What makes you so sure its a simple fix? filmoret: Because most of them are. Sometimes its just changing a number in a code string other times its creating a few variables. However none of them should take over a few hours of coding. |

WoW killer? Shouldn't the phrase be "League of Legends Killer?"
