Originally posted by mmoluva I think part of the problem is that you have no clue what the level difference would be between a person that used bonus xp boosters 100% of the time compared to someone that used them 0% of the time. The actual bonus appears to be quite low since the amount of xp for killing mobs is tiny.
If two people did everything the same, would 1 person be level 75 while the other 80 by the end? Maybe one is 70 and the other is 80? Certainly they would not be level 12 like you try and pass along in the post I quoted.
So I guess the question is, can you handle it that someone gets to 80 a few days earlier than you? I agree that an 80s will likely have an advantage over a 70 or a 75, but what are we really talking about here? A few days? SWTOR is the greatest mmo ever! |

There was an old saying.... It's not about winning or losing, it's about how you play the game. Some people take their game's way... too.... seriousley..... |

1) XP boosters only increase XP gain from mob kills. They do not increase XP from the following: DEs, Hearts, PS quests, Exploration, Vistas, sPvP, WvW, Crafting, Gathering....basically, where something like 80% or more of your xp comes from. 100% if you're levelling via pvp. 2) Gear scales too. the level 12's stats are brought in line to equivalent stats for similar tiers of gear at level 80. 3) The difference between tiers of gear even at 80 doesn't make THAT much of a diffference. Say (totlaly made up numbers), 60 power versus 50. A 10-15% gain most of the time, or less. noticeable, but not a game changer by itself. 4) Everyone gets access to all skills in WvW. Including Elites.

First of all your definition of fun is pretty different from mine. Classes are not the "same" and you cant face roll other players if you rush to lvl 80 because everyone is the same level in wvw. And to finish off with this misinformed OP post nothing you mentioned has ANYTHING to do with the manifesto. |

Originally posted by mmoluva Obviously I don't think that. I even played a lot of WvW in the first two BWEs. And I find it strange that that was all you were able to get out of that post. Especially since you were the one that mentioned level 12s.
Your argument is that someone using an XP boost vs someone that doesn't has a huge advantage. If both players follow the same path and spend the same amount of time leveling, what advantage is there really? 5 levels? 2 levels?
Also, your last sentence doesn't make sense. It's non-sensical. Manifesto status was made up by you to describe something that exists only in your own head. I have no way to relate to it because you have not delivered enough support for anyone to understand what you mean by it.
And there are no low level areas in WvW. It is all level 80.

Originally posted by seridan Indeed, there is a cap in this game once reached everyone is on the same grounds for skills and more. While you could level 2 and go to WvWvW. You would be gimped just due to the available skills, weapons and armor sets you are in. Alas you could do so thou if you wish and still actually kill someone that has been there 2 years playing. As far as cash shop, I will sum it up : Jealousy For the only thing the cash shop will bring you is looks and a possible nudge to get to the end quicker, so what? Jealous? Then buy some buffs bitch! Or shut up, it hurts you in no direct way other then your not top dog day one and well, thats the problem of it all now isn't it? It's unfair I have a job and you don't , so you know what , the server is only avalible when chaintm logs on, now that's fair! Want to design your own coasters, flat rides and more? Always wanted that dream Theme Park? Look no further! |

So you are confessing to be a noob that want to be stronger than everyone else in the game, without any skill? you sadden me young paddawan. I hope everyone with that mindset leaves GW2 after 120 days.
The PvE is fun if you like to explore and be apart of stories and fight huge monsters. WvWvW is fun if you like big battles, many objectives and exploring. SPvP is fun if you like it fast paced and competive. Tournament is a tougher verision of SPvP. |

More ignorant posts. I fail to see how any part of GW2 is saying "power level to max level as fast as you can to have fun". You are already 80 in PvP no matter where you go for PvP. For the hundredth time, play the damn game and stop posting non-sense that doesn't make any sense. 1 person, or even a few people is not going to make a huge difference even if they are 10-15% more powerful when it is 100's vs. 100's vs. 100's in WvW ... get a freaking clue man. It is like saying 1 man with a pistol can beat 200 guys with swords charging at him. No, you are still going to die horribly. This isn't some WoW/RIFT/crappy PvP game, it is actually fairly balanced at all levels of gear. |

Yeah, sorry all, I'll be also feeding the troll a little, but just one thing that is patently absent from everything I have read in the topic until here, and I wouldn't want a reader to forget about it A LVL2 WITH A BALLISTA THREE SHOTS A LVL80 IN WvW The ballista costs 6 silver, and at lvl 10 I had 25 silver. I went into WvW and defended a tower alone against 10 people with a ram using... an arrow cart worth 4 silver (hand made with tower resources). They had little skill, I admit (brainless zergs just die, yeah. Welcome to WvW), but there goes. In WvW, machines are the key, and whatever your level, if you have the ballista and they don't know how to play: you pawn them. |
