And if not are there plans to add one down the road. I'm mostly a solo player and I love going out doing my own thing while queued. There is nothing I find more boring than sitting somewhere spamming chat "LF1M"! |

There's really no point to having something like that in the game. The game mechanics just do not require it. I have been in all the beta weekends and cannot recall any chat messages requesting a group. Perhaps I am missing something but, the game does not need prearranged grouping. Quests are open ... just show up and join in the fun. No real 'trinity' so no asking for tanks, dps or healers.
Big boss fights all appear to be open world ... just portal over and join in the bashing. Get your xp and reward at the end. No fuss no muss. Tabletop RPG gaming since Chainmail and D&D was a blue book with some cheap plastic dice and a crayon. MMORPGing since MOOS/MUDS, when forums were just bulletin boards and players actually roleplayed their characters. |

The answer is a simple NO. But I disagree with people saying gw2 does not need it. I think especially a game where dungeons is the only grouping requirement in PvE needs a dungeonfinder. It also would fit very well with the core of GW2s game design to remove all irritaties from. The game.

I thought there was a lfg tool in place? Not a finder per se but something to at least stop people from having to try and find a group by spamming chat. Anyways a dungeon finder would be nice. 1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical. 2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself. 3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose. |

Originally posted by Mystais The dungeons are group instances, not open world dynamic events. They require you to form a group and go to the entrance. I don't feel this feature is important to me, but when other games are offering it players are prone to expect it. As Lord Bachus implied, the developers have strived to remove tedium from the game. Sitting around trying to form a group for an instance can be quite tedius. Cheers! Currenlty playing Neverwinter Online |

There are actual dungeons, that are instanced....that you need a group for. What you describe are dynamic events.
I would like a finder of some sort. I have no desire to spam chat channels looking for groups (yet again).

Originally posted by Worstluck It is odd though. Are these dungeon not well known? I had previously not even known about them and saw little to no chat traffic referring to them or for grouping. GW2 does not need a dungeon finder and I hope the idea of a dungeon finder becomes abolished from all future MMOs. Not since WoW started abusing instancing has there been a more game world breaking anti social feature implemented into an MMO. |

Originally posted by Mystais From what I have read, the actual dungeons seem to start around level 35. That's likely why not too many people have seen references to them in the game during this beta weekend. I know some folks got there, but I think most people were playing with the new races and the new starter areas.

There's only one dungeon active in beta, and it's level 30+ or so. There will be something like 9 at launch, each with several different paths you can take through for different bosses/experiences. |

As i said in another thread, its perfectly viable(and possible) to que a group of people together and teleport them to a dungeon. Im currently not invested in the game, so i dont know if that would be a good or a bad idea for the game in the long run. |

Well a dungeon finder might reduce the LFG spam..... Block the trolls, don't answer them, so we can remove the garbage from these forums |

Originally posted by Mystais I saw quite a few people looking for groups/more people for the dungeon on second BWE. I believe the main reason you didn't see much about them this BWE was because the first dungeon is level 30+, and since characters were wiped there were much fewer level 30+ people around. What can men do against such reckless hate? |

I don't think it's important at launch. I think it's even possible that things are better at launch with people talking in chat to make groups. There are enough people that groups come together pretty quickly. Shortly after the game goes live, they should add a dungeon/group finder tool. How long they wait to release it depends on the game itself. Join the League For Gamers. |

what? a dungeon group finder should be put into a game like this. It would span every single server to because of guesting. It would just make more sense to find a dungeon run than to spam the map channel trying to make a group |
