So many times I saw players run away after an event. I followed so many chains because I stuck around and followed NPCS. Many people still don't understand how quests work in this. Out of 20 people maybe 2 will stick around. What have you seen? How can we help new players? Play for fun. Play to win. Play for perfection. Play with friends. Play in another world. Why do you play? |

Originally posted by Magnetia yea I saw this also as you can see from my little story I justed posted I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at a store, oftentimes, I will drop it... so that it achieves its maximum flavor potential. --Mitch Hedberg |

If players spammed spacebear to skip SWTOR story, what makes you think players will be interested in waiting 5mins for npcs to their things in order for another event to start? People move on because they want to play at their pace. |

I noticed this also, par for the course these days. The scary part is one day the world will be run by adults who were never spanked as kids and got trophies just for participating. |

Sea of Sworrows for me. It is good to hear more people figuring it out XD Some time not too long after launch I hope everyone figures it out! I think this is the reason why most people think DEs are generic and boring. If I ran away and didn't listen to what the quest was about I would think less of them too. Play for fun. Play to win. Play for perfection. Play with friends. Play in another world. Why do you play? |

Originally posted by Clocksimus Personally I think "those" people will quit playing the game, and thanks to the wonderful Dynamic Level Adustment, they will not be missed one bit. This is not like that other mmorpg. It is for those with more patience. It is for those who want to explore. Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not. |

Here's the thing I think for many imo. 1:) the game does a bad job at explaining event's and such,so people leave. 2:) the game doesn't seem to be consistent, there have been time's that I waited and nothing happened and I was like wtf?
It just seems the world is confused to me.I really don't know how else to put it.I mean sometime's another step to the event happen's and other time's it just fizzle's out.It make's it confusing.Plus no real guidance from Anet.Maybe it will change for release, but I'm not counting on it. |

Originally posted by Berikai that's sort of the point. Sometimes you will trigger an event and then you can watch it unfold from start to end. Other times you will come into an event at a certain point in the events chain it just depends. Anet doesn't want you to experience the game the exact same if you are going through the same area with multiple characters which is sort of the whole point in how questing and DE's are setup I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. 18 out of 20 people could care less about the story and only 2% of those that do will remember it. I don't know why devs bother, MMOs are supposed to be about players being and creating the story, not their boring and tired NPC's. |

I'm not saying spoon feed gamer's,but when you do these event's and sometime's they fizzle out, isn't it possible many will just completely miss out on the end of said event's.I mean what if someone is unlucky and their event's seem to keep fizzling out instead of getting to the end? |

Originally posted by Berikai I think the whole idea is that quests shouldn't have to wait for you to happen and that's what the system achieves. Even though I have stumbled into events while they are near their end I sometimes start events and end up with a whole train of people. It is a fun experience to either join someone mid quest or seeing your decision trickle into more events in the world. Play for fun. Play to win. Play for perfection. Play with friends. Play in another world. Why do you play? |

Originally posted by Magnetia Well when you're at an event at the beginning on multiple occasion's,shouldn't you get to the end?The game isn't waiting for me cause I was there. If this is how the game is going to be at release then you have multiple people playing through the same area with event's that sometime's don't give you an end result. They fizzle at time's.Doesn't seem like a good result. The thing is it's not like it's a different experience sometime's,but rather it just isn't finishing the whole event and that is what make's it a confusing result. To me it doesn't improve the experience it makes a shortcoming and a crap shoot. I could understand if it's only affecting your personal story and how it unfold's,but when a group of stranger's and they're all affected it just diminish's the result. Some people won't see the actual end to an event even though they were there early on.
Edit:Just wanted to add that this was in the Sylvari start area and since it was just opened up it could change by release.I hope it does.3 times with a different result doesn't look good. |

Originally posted by Berikai I have to agree with both 1 and 2. I had no idea until someone told me today to stick around. I'd see an event pop up a couple minutes later close to where I was, but I would already be back in grindmode on the next quest. |

Sorry if only 10% of the players are doing it your way, you are doing it wrong. |
