I know you can never stop all hacks in a game, especially a shooter. i know there will allways be hackers. but how will they battle the everyday joe blow cheater who can spend a couple bucks and get some cheap aim bot? if the game is going to be free how is it even possible to stop it? if sombody gets banned they can just make another free acount and hack away some more ruinning everybody elses fun. the game looks awsome and i really want to play it, but personally im just sick and tired of these cool games not being able to handle the amount of cheaters what so ever. does this game have any hope of not being a total hack fest? |

And reportint them did pretty much nothing... So your guess is as good as mine, they say there are not going into detail about what they will be doing to combat hackers, which I believe is a copout.. I also have heard mention of Punkbuster being used... /laff And they said they will have active GM's watching over the game, but Planetside 1 had those and it took them forever to ban some people...If at all.. What ever they do, I just hope its more effective then in Planetside 1... ------------------------------ |

Think you should do your homework before you start calling hacks... I held #1 for a long time and was under a microscope for over 6 months. When I did get banned it was because the same losers you mentioned who got me banned complaining that I was HATE MONGERING on them. They complained on me every single day cause even with their glitches they still failed against me. Notice after I got banned my stats never got wiped? That there should tell you that planetside knew I was legit and I earned being #1 which I held for a long time. I got banned for so called "HATE MONGERING"... Cause every time I killed those prophet and his swift girlfriend they got screenshot and entered into the hall of the owned. They got banned and WIPED cause they were doing something odd surging and warping more than anyone else I faced but all for nothing cause I was in a max unit so I enjoyed owning those guys. Just had to clear that up =) And yes I will be coming to planetside 2 just built my system. I never seen hacks just odd glitches in planetside the surge warping was all I saw that should have been fixed but wasn't. I never ran into anyone who was too hard to handle in the game that I would scream hack. SOE handled it pretty good I did hear things got really bad after I left the game but I did come back on vanu LOLuSUX and still I didn't see anything but I heard it got really bad later. Anyway if you ever get totally tired of pc hacked and lack of support visit our youtube channel moved on to console gaming and emulation of keyboard and mice so I didn't have to deal with pc hacking. I hope planetside 2 isn't going to be over run with hackers cause I hear it's going to be free to play. This will just send a huge red flag up to all subscriber hack sites and possibly destroy it. Anyway... I spoke my peace. |

Sounds like something a true hacker would say to defend themselves. I am AllStarr24 and I approve this message. |

GODJOEY never got wiped I held #1 long after I got banned and even right now 7 years later it still shows I'm now #3 lol. It's difficult when you are this good you will always make enemies. Either way love me or hate me you will remember who the #1 player is. Hackers like prophet and swift both got wiped due to hacking after their ban. I will not be coming back just needed to let you all know PREPARE I'm coming for you all if not on GODJOEY on my fake names ha ha. =) TR OWNS u. |

I did see you spawn camp in your busters max but that is far from hacking so for that im sorry. I think the theory you used to hack was because people questioned how you always seemed to "appear" in the spawn. And the fact that ur clan 'GOD', is infamous with the hacking tag... Now SGprophet and swift, yeah those warping chumps were speedstepping and that was obviously a hack. I'm glad SOE finally got them. Now you were not around during the really bad hacks since, its seems it got really bad a year after the mass exodus and shortly before and after Chinaside. I don't know but maybe you were LOLuSUX sounds familar. Now about you being the number 1 player, yeah bro you had the top kills for a min there at the start of the game.. But as I said earlier you used to spawn camp in your busters and I don't thnk I ever saw you in Rexo or Agile armor.. So as far as im concerned you can't claim that title.

If you watch a game, it’s fun. If you play it, it’s recreation. If you work at it, it’s FF-XIV. |

I'm more afraid of ms laggers that perposly play in server where A. They can't speak the language of the players evven in the room. B. They purposly play on a server on the other side of the planet so they can use their lagging to get an advantage over the guy trying to shoot somone warping around. Most of the time when a hacker plays long enough they get banned. However on a ftp server it's so easy for them just to make a new email/account/ that it justs ends up being a lot of hassel. |

I had #1 long before the pounder / cycler camping days. That was what I call pure boredom and getting ahead of the zerg hack a tower then head to the base to suppress the enemy before they all spawned at the next base and it worked. Blow all terminals after I hack in and pounder up then blow 2 tubes and wait patiently for the "RUSH". If it got out of hand I would blow the tube.I used to enjoy the MCG dropping on towers or reavering and skeetering people constantly. Anyway game was great but after all the nerfs many people left the game. I heard it was flooded by hacks later on I'm glad I didn't see that. I don't really care about being #1 in the game I wanted to see how I ranked up against legit players on pc after years of dealing with hackers in every title since qtest. Bottom line anyone of any skill can kill anyone given the right moment so being #1 is pointless. That being said I truly never felt outmatched it was always rock paper scissors type battles and I ended up in a reaver, agile mcg, or max sorta like don't bring a knife to a max fight sorta deal lol. But to stay on the top of the charts you basically have to move a toilet bowl in place of your computer chair and LIVE on the game which is not worth it. lol I'm busting your chops tiny I was surfing for planetside posts on google and found this. Hackers are the main reason I moved to console the last 4-5 years I never had to deal with lack of support and I just use my mouse emulators. Here's my channel if anyone is interested in the best mouse emulators on the market I do reviews. http://www.youtube.com/teamgoddotnet |

Don't think it'll be a big deal, although this is f2p, it also has the advantage of the MASSIVE part of the equation. This is of course going on no real info so don't take it as the gospel but I would figure someone with blatent hacks will be more visible in a larger group due in part of the survival rate in huge fights even as a gifted player is going to very very low. If they have good metrics for information, someone that has a kill streak of 50 in an area of say 300 enemy players is going to stand out really bad. This is possible maybe with a very good sniper position but its then going to go by Killrate. That snipers going to take 30 minutes more or less to do that. If however they do this in a base on foot, something is very very wrong and he's likely exploiting or there is a major balance issue. BF3 is a good example of being able to pick out a blatent hacker, in a 64 player server, the best legitimate player I've ever seen in Conquest was a 10 to 1. In most games the top players are 4.1, 5.1 and are usually using vehicles so it's not unreasonable to see this happening. So when you see a guy thats 40/0 and hes not camping as a sniper, or in a vehicle, its incredibly obvious hes exploting or hacking. The thing about hacking with something like Planetside is unfortunately it's fallen out of SOES favor many years ago, the population dropped pretty rapidly and they moved operations elsewhere. So the chances are there is no dedicated hacker team on it, its maybe a few GMs monitoring things but not what it was when the game launched. You will see them though, its unfortunate but the goons that do that crap go for the flavor of the month and when Planetside 2 goes live, every idiot that does that will jump on board, but SOE should be able to deal with it. |

Its all about inconviencing the hacker. It is impossible to stop them but the goons who buy their hacks and get banned are going to be the easiest to scare off, and are going to be the bulk of the troublemakers. If they are buying hacks, chances are they are going to buy shortcuts in the game, like in this Its probably going to have EXP boosts so maybe you lock out that credit card. Yeah they can get a new prepaid but again its not about stopping them, there is few ways to, its to hopefully make it very annoying to be persistant and they move on. If theres one advantage to consoles that pcs cant really have its that they can't be hardware banned, I would love if there was a safe and easy way for a company to ban them from their service and have no easy way to get bck. |

I doubt they'll ever come out and say what they will do to stop hackers. I'm sure whatever they do won't be 100% effective as nothing ever is, but my guess would be they will have ways to track suspicious activity so they can investigate players further, stuff like incredible kill streaks or impossibly high hit percentages, etc. I'm pretty sure it was mentioned somewhere that they have ways to automatically watch for things like kill trading, etc, so I'd only assume this kind of automation will extend to hacking also. One thing that does kind of concern me is that since it's free to play, you can easily set up two accounts and it will be alot easier for people to have "spies" on the other factions. |

Thats a major problem with a lot of FPS games that have any form of report function the false positives, it clogs a report system and makes it that much harder to get an admin to listen. I've been playing online games since Quake 2, in most cases its not worth even screaming "OMG HACKS" because it's a waste of breath usually. I am one of those strange people who frankly would love to see the demise of dedicated servers hosted by people outside of the games company, it's part of the major problem with hacking among other things. You have good servers without a doubt, but for every 1 good server there is probably a dozen who have limited monitoring, poor monitoring (again false positives) or ones that disregard it intentionally. There is other reasons why I don't like dedicated servers anymore but they aren't relevent to the topic. When I played Planetside(I played consistantly til a few months after Core Combat) and I always felt I was playing a fair game, and i think part of it was because it was SOE controlling the servers, not some punk who got his friends to chip in for a server that they run like crap. Edit: Whoops got off track with the dedicated server thing, I didn't actually make my point. I wanted to show that the hackers are rampant mentality that goes through a game is usually at its core, stemming from poor admins running servers, it ends up like a witch hunt and so I think people are much more jaded and think hackers are overwhelming everything, which isn't the case.

I forgot exactly what he said but it was something about each computer has its own unique finger print or something to that effect.. He was saying something about banning that fingerprint...
Im not that computer savy but the way he was talking was making it seem like hackers would have to go through a extreme amount of trouble and money to work around this fix...
I just wish hope SOE really does keep up their CS support team like they did in the early days of Planetside.. I'm not saying they don't monitor the game because they do.. I had a CS guy send me a tell one time (I guess some people reported me) but that was in the early days.. Towards the end when I gave it up for good, it was getting out of hand. ------------------------------ |

Perhaps that was due to Planetside having a pretty decent mature community compared to other MMO's... It probably won't be like that this time due to the Battlefield and COD kids hearing about PS2. ------------------------------ |

Yea that would be cool if you go TR. Yea man those pain fields caused me to have to carry a lot of medkits to compensate timing was even more crucial. I sometimes had to crawl into the spawn area cloaked to not be picked up by audio amp then hack and pounder up in a full room. I mean I seen some hacking in bf3 only 1 who was over 200 kills in close quarters just glad I didn't have to face it since I'm new to the game. Now he was blatant now I can only imagine the ones who are trying to look legit. BF3 is just a time killer till ps2 comes out so I'm just in survival mode in that game right now. No matter what if someone is hacking or not hacking some people just get bruised egos no matter what the game is. It was easier for many people to scream hack on me than face I maybe had no life ? I played the game so much it was ridiculous my fps may have been slightly better or I just had a better gameplan at that moment. Did I die sure did I kill a lot yea did I care ? No the game is and was epic a little too addicting. This is part of the reason I play I just like seeing the mature responses of my fellow man reduce themselves to after losing in a video game. Some of them appear to have virtual meltdowns. Had to use Benny Hill http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79gOngL1Aqk |
