For a game as detailed, meticulous, challenging, and player driven as EVE Online without that game being EVE Online? I had a really fun time with EVE but honestly I don't really dig the sci-fi, outer space genre. I am and will always have my heart with the sword and board, dungeon crawling, frontier venturing MMOs with physical fighting and magic. What I loved about EVE was how many different paths there were to choose from. If I wanted to be a manufacturer, I could spend all of my time manufacturing and be happy. If I wanted to be a miner, fine. If I wanted to sit in the market and become a trader, I could do that too. Why is it too much to ask for another game to come out with just as much attention to detail and customization as EVE? |

You could give Fallen Earth a spin, you go around an apocolyptic world with a character that can end up looking completly unique. The crafting system is beautiful, you can create next to anything in the game, including mounts. The auction house is completly player driven and for most levels there is a help chat, so if you need help, just ask. |

Because that literally is asking for a lot? Lol obviously.. How Eve is made fits well for Eve, go ahead and figure out how hard it'd be to implement it to another concept. |

Originally posted by xK3rune I'm thinking about it and it doesn't really seem all that complicated. Ultima Online was even somewhat close to this idea and that was made, what, 17 or so years ago? CCP is not by any means the largest gaming company, yet they maintain the game that should, in my opinion, be the gold standard for all sandbox games. Is it really hard to imagine some of the concepts from EVE implemented into another MMO genre? |
