Originally posted by SlickShoes It doesn't have 34 buttons to press, as when you swap out weapons, etc, you loose access to the others skills. What's going on here is an attempt to compare overall skills available to a class in GW2, to that of active skills in TSW. Which is vey misleading, as there's way more skills available in TSW. Agree though that it doesn't matter, and both games can co-exist and both be enjoyable. |

I tried TERA a month ago, didn't like it at all, don't browse it's forums, don't post about it because I don't play it and it has no bearing on my life. ![]() |

Somehow the combat in this game wasnt that sux except kinda hard to click and target with , that's only problem i have in this game, i have been playing alot of other mmo like Tera, it does have a good combat system but lacking everything else and boring as hell, i stop playing it after my first month sub gone, but for me the combat system in TSW is challenging, yes i know it only have 7 skills to play so that's make you think of a unique combo for both pve pvp. I still enjoying my stay in TSW, graphic wasn't that bad after u get used to it, those people saying graphic sux then look at other F2P mmo, you will see my point. However, there is a fact that if the game focus too much on combat and graphic, then it will lack of alot content like pvp, like Tera, Aion, but for some game like TSW it lack of combat system but the story and atmosphere r awesome. None of any MMORPG is perfect, maybe it's not the game for u |

Originally posted by grapevine If you read through the whole thread, you'll see that there are actually 6 people who claim to have left the game already. The vast majority of posts is from people that are saying they HAVEN'T left the game, hehe
Of course, by making the title of the thread "Why did you quit this game ?", the OP can now say that the "leaving thread on TSW forums" is already 13 pages long ! It's the oldest trick in the book. Along the lines of: "Have you stopped beating your wife yet ?". You may only answer "yes" or "no".... If you have been reading the TSW forums for a month or more, you will also notice that 4 of these 6 alleged "leavers" have been some of the most negative posters since closed beta days. Why they actually bought and played TSW (if they ever did) is a mystery to me.

Haven't quit the game yet but clearly I won't play it long. Enjoying it for what it is, an online RPG with good immersion. (something SWTOR tried to do but failed miserably imo) Combat is rather boring and PvP is non existent outside of the 3 BGs (make that 2 since one of them never pops). There is no open world and the end game is the same old beat to death formula: gear treadmill through raiding. So I guess the reasons I will quit this are the same I quit every other MMO in recent years: they all use the exact same formula of end game raiding and instanced PvP. Been there, done that... |

I will also be playing GW2, I try my best not to get excited for MMO releases these days as many of the most recent ones have been huge disappointments. I think this is why I like TSW because I went in expecting it to be horrible. ![]() |

Just for the record it was one of the TSW "fans" that brought up GW2 in post number.............2. Some people just can't resist a snipe....insecurity I guess. Tbh GW1 Is a better candidate for comparison.

Yeah I love how people get going on the "only" 10 total skill slots in GW2 thing when they have, apparently, no idea how weapon swapping works or anything else. On the other hand, in TSW, I believe, skills can be changed out at will. I don't really see the two game mechanics as being all that different. HOWEVER.....you can like one and not the other. They are different enough that you can certainly prefer one over the other. President of The Marvelously Meowhead Fan Club |

gameplay and animations... they really suck and ruin the atmosphere. if you intend to build some solid content like investigations, you have to back that up with cool gameplay. |

Not quitting, matter of fact I bought the lifetime after Ragnar's announcement .
I don't spend time looking at my toon while killing stuff or solving puzzles, so I guess that's why the animations don't bother me. And for all of you that never stepped into the game after beta, you would have no idea how much character creation was improved but you can check out the screenshot contest here.

Originally posted by Butregenyo I actually like the combat and gameplay. Yeah i know they dont hand you a fun build you have to make it yourself, and i know theres people who havent figured out the skill system. Make a good build and you wont complain about combat sucking. Also the animations are not terrible, this is a very opinionated subject though, i can say any games animations and combat sucks i guess...i wouldnt say animations are over the top flashy but that doesnt make them poor quality.
They had to open a new server already so i guess more people disagree than agree here. |

Still playing it and still loving it. Maybe the game is not for you, it has difficult mechanics and the missions requier you to think especialy the investigation ones. A good general knowledge of myths, legends and code breaking is needed. So if you lack these then the game will be to difficult for you, and if you can't read ability descriptions it will be even harder as you wont be able to make the correct builds. |

Originally posted by Olgark That was the good part indeed, which i loved...
Its the very simplistic combat, its allways building A finish B. As i said, being in combat for 80% of the time, these 7 abbilities create niche play and single tactics builds, rinse and repeat. I love to have a broader skillpallet. Its not hard to create a good build that works, but they are just not my cup of cake. I love games where real time tactical decissions are a must. And thats just not TSW.
Tough as said before, the quests and setting are probably the most orriginal in any MMO till today. Sadly it was not enough to keep me playing. Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) |

Originally posted by grapevine Offcourse they can live next to eachother and with eachother..
And as to why i brought up GW2, thats because someone else attacked me with the fact that GW2 combat was the same as TSW combat. And i didn´t even mention GW2 in this whole thread.
Oh and Mister Slickshoes, I also have a Necromancer build with 32 skills, and a 40± skills engineer. many other classes can have much more skills in GW2, not that it matters in this discussion, but just to inform you. ;)
back on topic, i can understand how certain people just love TSW and will allways do aslong as there are stories to live and puzzles to solve. For me the actuall combat was just more important then for them. Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) |
