Well personally I don't feel protected by traditional armor, only a metal thong will work.
Don't take that away from me! |

I love how some of the people here are posting obviously saved screenshots from their anime porn collection. |

Most of the pictures your seeing is from Tera or GW2. The last one is off from Queen's Blade only avaiable in Korea.
It's not porn but the correct term for it is called ecchi. But while I look at these pictures I see them no different than what one would probably see at a local club in the real world with exotic girl dancers.
Also Saints Row 3 had the same exact thing including a specailized purple bat. And blurred out full nudity. |

It does make sense that armor would eventually tear in a more realistic properties. The girls off Queen's Blade are getting hit with all sorts of lasers, claws, and robot mecha enemies even with gattling guns. I doubt armor would be able to take so much damage without falling off in peices at one point unless it's binded with magical non-scraping properties. Besides that the game is rated 18+ which justifies it's much mature content! |

Hmm it's really strange here when people don't come to the terms of understanding what fantasy is, fiction, or an unhealthy alienation of sexuality to the point of phobia. Either way I am most glad that the koreans and the japanese are the leading industry in allowing players to truly try the meaning of fantasy and fictional gaming despite some black-bar censoring in JP that doesn't make much sense hahaha. It beats being covered up head-to-toe in conserative clothes in real life all day long, 24/7 a week. Not even a belly permitted. No rhinna, none of those songs. No rap, no MTV music videos, none of that. Not even a music video with women in their grown 40's if their breast are showing on their shirt at the top or basicually 90% of the music-video industry. Very Strict. However I had a friend who has recently given me some clothes to try out. It was the first time I ever wore a spaghettie tank-top and those summer shorts girls like to wear. Felt so strange and different I was literally checking myself over to see if anything wasn't showing and was trying to pull my shirt down longer! Then she told me how pretty I looked and It brought out natural beauty that was already there. Made me smile much!
But what more from a unrealistic video-game character? Is the female body that truly bad it must be shunned and demonized? |

I just don't think that MMOs, or at least those that I have played, are a problem. When all has been said and done, more will have been said than done. |

I don't equate what one wears (or not) as sexualisation nor what they look like, it's another thing if the female characters are constantly bending over shaking their behinds and making sexual innuendos left and right etc, not that I mind that though.. |

G-strings and tassles, all the way. Especially if they're wearing them while beheading a monster. Thats just... heavenly to me. So... yeh. Whatever. |

As a girl, I can only say that I think the only wrong thing about this is "sexy girls" has to be compared to prostitutes?? Many girls like to dress sexy, look at halloween. We generally like to look pretty, not always for men but for ourselves and other girls.. take this comment for example "omg where did you buy that dress? I love it!" <- yay :D In the games I often go for the clothes that look prettiest, sometimes their "skimpy" sometimes they are a full robe, all depending on design. This games really have hot male characters too from what I can see :D |

If Age of Conan can get away with having half the lady toons running around with their actual bare jumblies bouncing around everywhere, well then......
I think GW2 will be okay. Although with some of the clothing, just a few of the costumes, Im trying to figure out why they even bothered with clothes. Just pull a string or thread and poof. Naked. But whatever. Most of them are incredibly artfully done with a sort of very sexy Victorian era thing going on. Its nice work. |

People need to learn that sex sells. Thats why they do it. Its a part of games now get used to it. I personally don't mind it. Being a pessimist is a win-win pattern of thinking. If you're a pessimist (I'll admit that I am!) you're either: A. Proven right (if something bad happens) or B. Pleasantly surprised (if something good happens) Either way, you can't lose! Try it out sometime! |

Wait, it´s 2012 and we still did not understand that women crave attention from their male peers online just like they do in real life? I have met tons of actual, real female players (not guys dressing as sluts for their kink) due to the type of guilds i often join and in 10 years of mmo gaming i have met like only two who actually followed their words and wore non-revealing outfits. Yet every single one of them would agree with this topic and complain about "oversexualization" even though they are the first ones to choose the sexiest gear to play with their friends /e-crush / what not. Yes, next to no woman enjoys a creepy guy drooling all over their characters, but they love when their guildmates/e-crush/friends/ close persons comment over their choice of clothing and how much they like the looks of their character just as much as they enjoy their interest´s reaction to their outfit/makeup irl.
And there is nothing wrong with it. Rawr. |
