So I hear that DC Online has the best character customization? Or is it Champion Online? Looking for something outside the Fantasy genre. But then again Guild Wars 2 looks very promising, not sure if I'll be able to stay away. |

I'd say: Human Only - All Points Bulletin Unique Character - City of Heroes and Champions Online Decent Contenders - Aion and Age of Conan Original Free to Play - Perfect World
Guild Wars 2 has a fairly good character creation, especially considering it has 5 different races, but it's still very limited compared to the above. |

If you go beyond faces and body types, Hands down TSW when it come to clothing and builds. Other games give you more faces or body type, but a lot less customization. DamonVile- Games built for disposable players are now apparently built by disposable employees. |

Originally posted by bcbully Honestly there may be plenty of builds in TSW, but the viability of builds are extremely limited. It may not be so readily apparent yet. I actually think GW2 gives you more viable build options than TSW right now. As far as clothing goes I think even at character creation a game like Champions Online or DCUO gives more options than TSW has currently. There are certainly a lot of different clothings in the game (especially when you count the ones you earn through achievements), but a lack of dye option really hurts the level of customization you can get. TSW's character creation is very disappointing too especially when you compare it to Funcom's other title: Age of Conan. |

Are you talking about appearance customization or how much you can customize your stats, gear, skills, etc? SWTOR is the greatest mmo ever! |

EVE and APB are the absolute best. Writer / Musician / Game Designer Now Playing: Skyrim, Wurm Online, Tropico 4 |

EVE.. simply amazing! I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at a store, oftentimes, I will drop it... so that it achieves its maximum flavor potential. --Mitch Hedberg |

Best character customization i ever seen is AION you can change everything and make it look like yourself but i wont reccomend the game is just too harcoregrind to gear up. |

EVE is amazing, but you can't interact with anyone. I would purchase the character creator by iteself though if I could. |

SecondLife has the best character customization. No Normal MMO can compare if it wanted to just due to game mechanics. Practice doesn't make perfect, practice makes permanent. If monsters ate people, it'd be in the news. |

Depends on what you consider good.

Sorry for not being more clear. I meant purely on an asthetic level. EVE wins hand down imo, but then you can't actually interact with other players using your avatar, so I don't really count it.
I downloaded the TERA trial and was very impressed with its customization. I wish TSW was more like it. |

Guild Wars 2 has what I consider to be the best character customization for an MMORPG: with mutiple races, tons of presets, sliders and hundreds of dyes to go with a variety of gear.
However APB has the best character customization... period. Nothing can match it yet. Anyone who says otherwise needs to play APB and spend a day just making a character. |

EVE character customization looks really impressive. I never played it and thought Aion was great as far as customization is concerned. EVE blows it out of the water though. Of course I'm not sure EVE renders a lot of those detailed characters on your screen and the comparison could actually be quite unfair with respect to what it would require from your system due to the games being so different. |

If there are no additional requirements, would something like second life not be the best bet? |
