Gazillion Entertainment has announced that fans of Marvel Heroes will get a chance to play the upcoming MMO at this year's San Diego Comic Con to be held next week. Players will be able to game as one of four iconic heroes through several areas of the game and to learn more about the customization system.

During San Diego Comic-Con, fans can also find – and perhaps win – the Tablet of Life and Time, a powerful item in Marvel Heroes. The Tablet has been stolen in a daring raid, and to help get it back the Marvel Heroes Task Force needs you! San Diego Comic-Con attendees will be deputized and issued a unique photo ID badge, then put hot on the trail of the Tablet. Over the course of Comic-Con, as deputies get closer to the Tablet’s location, they can win exclusive prizes, including T-shirts and the chance to join the Marvel Heroes Beta. One winner will win the Tablet of Life and Time itself! To start their adventure, attendees should visit the Marvel Booth # 2329 to become deputized and get their mission instructions.

It's funny how this screenshot looks EXACTLY like any mission on Super Hero Squad Online - just with realistic rather than cartoony grafics.

If this new game has a trading card game too then I will give it a try.

I was hoping for a game more like DCUO, instead of Diablo.  This certainly explains why we can have more than one player playing spiderman for instance.  I will give it a try when it releases, but probably will not take the game very seriously because of this.  Who knows, I might be surprised...

But for the people who need a quick Ultimate Alliance fix i am sure it will be stellar.

Ugh, is this what Marvel Universe Online, originally announced back  in 2006  has become?  What a waste.  I think even Cryptic (Who was handling the title originally), if given those 6 years to work on a Marvel MMO, would have come up with something much better than this. 

I guess I shouldnt expect much from a company (Marvel) that bailed on its stockholders by declaring bankrupty back in the mid 90's and decides to remake a movie that is only 10 years old in Spiderman.

I really hope they have early naming. If someone else gets Spiderman33127 before me, I think I will lose the will to play.

I like the different approach they are taking, Diablo style game with Marvel characters. I like it!

Bleh. Was hoping for so much more. They just went the cheap route and made set characters to play instead of the better route, character creation.

Psyched for this, love the collectable quality of Squad/Alliance games. If these are half as addictive as their Alliance games were, I'll be playing it for a long time. I still pop in UA:2 on occasion to finish leveling everyone to cap.

They have said that it will be a free to play game with a predominantly cosmetic cash shop.

I've just looked at their first dev diary, there will mostly be public battle areas which is just like MMO game (I think) with private instance for boss battles. So it isn't necessarily a diablo system where you only see your party in the area.

just makes me want to fire up DCUO again ...

Diablo + Marvel = sounds like fun to me .. I will be touching it with a 10 foot poll 

Now that I know its not a proper MMO wont touch it, and I guess nor would most of the guild. what a pity!

We'll see. I hope they have good success!
