Didn't have any major issues with my computer expect for some bugged missions that are still present in the game since CB, other than that Funcom did a Great Job on their new title. I also haven't come across any memory leaks, crash to desktops or blue screen of death this time around on this title. So you know how I voted. |

Nice article about how Funcom have mastered the art of releasing a bugged MMO, http://kotaku.com/5923604/with-the-secret-world-funcom-has-mastered-the-art-of-the-buggy-mmo-launch This time I am not joking it is a nice article. But also perhaps one of the reasons the 'anti-TSW Trolls' as it was so nicely put aren't so enamored. I especially love this quote taken from the article, 'one might say the glitches and bugs enhance the experience'.
Just so you know this anti-TSW person is still here but refuses to post that much these days. At least after a concerted effort by the 'staff' to moderate any form of open discussion on this game. Must say didn't even know TSW had launched until I got an email today. Nice to see some positive reviews but I am hearing too much of the same old story. Where can I find details of sales figures? Anybody got any links. Just interested to see how well the game is actually doing. |

I'd love to see the MMO that launched with absolutely no bugs.. too bad it doesn't exist.
The bugs that were found in TSW (for the most part) are related to massive amounts of people attempting to start/interrupt/click the same time as other people... bugs that are extremely hard to catch in any environment but one with a massive amount of users doing the exact same thing at the exact same time.
Rift had bugged quests too but people gloss over that.
Funcom has a patch on TestLive today that fixes almost all of those little bugs that article was complaining about. Do it right or do it quickly.. what kind of bug fixing would you rather have? |

RIFT had a few less buggie things than TSW at launch but I am very pleased with the TSW product so far. |

Originally posted by shamall There are what... 4-8 maximum bugged quests between Kingsmouth and Savage coast. In those quests that are "bugged" you can fix them by getting an invite to a group in another instance where it's working and meet up with them.
Out of the 120 quests between these two zones around 8 are acting weird or broken.
Some people need better math skills.. I wouldn't consider that "so many bugged quests" at all. I had more buggest quests in a single planet on SWTOR at launch. |

I was in beta for AOC, standard beta with little direct contact from the devs. I was in Closed beta for TSW and not only Dev jump in on the conversations regularly, Ragnar himself would jump in discussions and would actually interacted like a fellow gamer rather than just a Dev. They are a very cool team, I am not surprised how good live is.

Originally posted by Atlan99 The build in question is Striker, from the shotgun line. It does no damage if you use an attack which sets a hinder state. It still applies resources but do no damage.
As far as that bugged story quest, it was tier 15 of the "Dawning of an Endless Night." The part where you have to defend the ward stones against waves of zombies and such. I got kicked off the server during the Blue Mountain portion of the quest, in the middle of defending the ward stone. When I clicked the "switch server" option, I was not able to continue the quest. The mobs didn't spawn and the stone was not clickable. I was finally able to finish it today, when I saw another player doing to same quest.

Today I thought I'd make a new character on a different "dimension" to help out the lost souls with broken quests. I noticed that there was a total of like...7, one being german, one being french. I believe it was a worldwide launch? So is the game running better than most expected, yup. Is it successful? I guess only Funcom would know. |

Well, i'm playing myself, but from live streams i've seen and post all over the net, it seems to be only certain tiers of the quest, not the whole thing. Also, it seems to be less than most of all missions, so it looks quite minimal, but again, can't confirm. Good news is that patch 1.0.1 is suppose to fix it all, or most atleast. |

It does indeed suck somewhat to have to dodge the off broken quest as it distracts from your first immersive impression. Spreading around your points a bit too thinly and picking mediocre powers due to learning they system slows you down a bit but I must say this:
I have been through much much MUCH ...
.... much worse launches. Won't complain too much just yet. The leveling process is so alien to normal mmo's that you are required to wrap your head around it. Once done it isn't so bad. |

Perhaps the CEO resigning has had some positive effect at Funcom. Or did he go a day prior to launch because he knows something you don't? Hey you want intrigue, rumors, gossip, misdirection, secret societies ... mothing more intriguing than what is happening at Fucom :) |

I feel like it was a huge launch sales wise. But with all the positive user reviews and hopefully similar press reviews we will see some decent growth as hype grows and people try it out. It definitely feels so fresh and new to me it really does.

Originally posted by heartless I saw you ended up finishing it, before I saw that I was gonna tell you to page a GM. I hear they've been sorting out missions where you can't progress. .. But in a good way. |

Originally posted by fallenlords Honestly this game was more Ole's baby than the former CEO's. Ole (the COO during development) spent a lot of time reading the Beta forums, answering questions and even getting his own hands dirty researching bugs and account issues.
He's been with the company a long time and deserves the position. The old CEO left because the project launch. There's no conspiracy to it at all. Companies do this all the time with CEOs.. most large companies don't retain a CEO more than 3-4 years. |

Originally posted by heartless The Striker bug sucks but I didn't notice it tonight (Striker + passive + close quarters) on my run in Inferno. I wonder what's up with that.
As far as the Dawning step I think that's been fixed on TestLive for the next patch. Honestly though, if you run across something like that again, Petition a GM about it they will advance the quest for you. The GMs (despite what some trolls may say) are super helpful.. the most helpful in any launch I've seen. I haven't seen a single launch game where a GM will take the time to advance a broken quest for you.
I had one bend over backwards to replace a lost item for me the first day of headstart. Give them a try when you run across a problem you'll probably get to move past it in a timely manner. |
