TL;DR:

CRS needs to supplement it's revenue with other projects to sustain our development and production of WWIIOL. Rapid Assault needs to be successful to bring in that revenue and provide a technology path for the future of WWIIOL. Support RA = Support WWIIOL.

It's a bucket alright......of crap.   Still no Americans in game after YEARS!  Highest priced game around unless you fall for the trick of signing on for a year or more to support their bad decisions.  My letter to CRS and to anyone thinking of this thing will be posted in these forums for you to see.

The kickstarter has 17 days left.  At the rate the donations are coming in they won't even have half of $100,000.

So according to the One Big Bucket everything hinges on the success of RA.  If the kickstarter doesn't come through does that  mean the end of WW2online?

I'm so damn tired of people begging for bail outs.  This is really what they are doing.  We've failed with our money so give us YOUR money so we can try again!

Oh, and keep paying for the game at the highest rate online!

I just watched the trailer for RA.  One of the comments was it looked like Medal of Honor on the lowest settings.  So true.

Why do we need this game again?  Is this something the general public is interested in playing again?  I mean Omaha beach has been done to death.

They need to stop the RA stuff and focus on the MMO to be honest. They have halted updates on the game I liked for RA. I had been subbed for years and years but I just can not go back until they stop with RA and focus on the core game that everyone loved.

Looks like the kickstarter has stalled.  It's only gaining due to the same people who have already pledged upping their pledge amount. 

I don't get it.  Cornered rats got into this trouble trying to get the fast action crowd into WWIIOL and failing while killing the core WWIIOL player base off.  Now they're trying to make a game in a style they've never been able to pull off (while competing with the ton of other fps action games)?

Hell, they would be better off trying to keep alive by making WWIIOL free2play and charging micro transactions for towable ATG/AAA or personalized tank decals or something.

And after seeing the vid. OMG not enough ground cover!!! NERF the tanks!!!! nerf nerf!!

The kickstarter is halfway over and they are $75,978 behind.  12 days to go.  

Six days to go and $64,985 behind.

Don't bother with RA. Same tired old crap from the same tired old company.

Put your money into something good instead of this corpse of a company as it's going bankrupt in no time.

I used to love this game.  I too, was a day one player and remember the hard times...but it was also the "good times".  Years went by and it was actually improving regularly, updated models, improved mechanics, Squad-based play!  Times change, and the enthusiasm behind the project is gone.  I do not have any interest towards Rapid Assault...and I won't pay for it just to continue on a "dream" that was never close to being fulfilled in WWIIOL. 

I haven't played in a year or so, and that is likely because each time I return to check on the progress it has been moving in the wrong direction with a constant bleed of players.  New blood is near non-existant and "RA" isn't exactly a good way to attract more either.  What is new about rapid assault that other similar games haven't already brough to the market, and in better quality? It looks very lackluster and uninspired.

Deep down, I hope one day the original concept of WWIIOL will continue in some form or another...whether that is through CRS or another company, we may never know.

'welcome back soldier" drive I found it insulting that I would be TOS'ed for stating that CRS should NOT be guilting us ww2online subscribers to buy a product to save the product we are being asked to PAY A WHOPPING 18 dollars a month allready

They (crs) have no shame

I allready pay 18 a month to play a  game ...now they want to scream at ME to pay donations for a game that will take away targets of the game I allready pay for way too much for

RA IS there for a financial back up to WWIIOL - after it was stated WWIIOL has not made a profit since it was launched ...I say again WWIIOL has not made a profit since it was launched yet it has been kept alive - what does that say about the developers?

At no point has this game been wonderful enough to reap the profit the guys posting here seem to think. WWIIOL has never been a business, it has been a passion of a very small group of developers and my lord what a colorful ride for over 10 years!

The big bucket is about tryign to curb that issue to turn WWIIOL into something that can be sustained and developled still so it needs our support, more than ever, to keep it going.

The guys here are slating a team who have worked, for little return, to provide a gaming environment and all they are receiving is rants about "how it isn't perfect" and in fact, its as perfect as it could have been considering.
