Hi all, just had a quick question for everyone on here. Since we only have 7 passives to work with, which do you feel is the most important? They don't have to be a specific skill per say, but just the overall affect. Currently I am torn with using or not using HoT's and applies penetration. I am not sure if there benefits are worth slotting so any help would be great. I am talking for both pve and pvp. Secondly, I wonder if increasing crit chance is viable for a spot.
Let me know what you guys think, thanks in advance CPU-Asus Republic of Gamers Laptop |

Well....that would depend on the way i want to play right? The thing i love the most about the game is that it allows you to build whatever class you want i for example am trying to figure out how to build an evading crit hit Mage who gets stronger by evading obviously i will need completely different passive skills as i would need for my healer. I am sure that there are some skills which will be used a lot more than others but i think that the class systems allows you to build a counter class for just about everything so i do not think that there are best passive skills in general. |

i m still in the look around phase but in my three specs alone i found multiple combinations, hard to give any hints. I got hints from a mate playing almost same combi and his setup sucked ass for me and my 'feel of gameplay' no idea how he gets decent result with his setup :P (he does) I think you go and generaly compare what skills , whereever they come from, harmonise with you main setup. I use hammer/shotgun have passives from AR and chaos magic in and it works great (for me). Buddys keep smacking their heads about it but hey i stomp 1v1 encounters in pvp very easy unless their bloodmage/blades. Those are kinda nemesis (or totaly suck , dunno what those guys do) duh realy hard to give you a hint there since i had to imprint my playstyle into your head with my hints... |

It is nice to be able to choose from a ton of different options. I am just wondering if increased penatration is actually viable. I am wondering if someone tested that in pvp and pve to see if the increase really makes a difference. For example, I have lvl 8 elemental with an increase in pen and I still glance a ton in blue mountains, but when I pvp I hardly glance. Then I tried the same build without the increased pen for pve and pvp and it basically seemed like the same result. So currently imo i dont think it is nessasary I am just wondering if anyone noticed that too.

Also with HoT's I tried them out of a bit but I think adding damage passives instead and burning mobs down worked bettter then minor heals. Anyone have any thoughts on that. Side note, I am speaking on behalf of blue mountain quests, those seem to be much more difficult based off the 2 previous maps. CPU-Asus Republic of Gamers Laptop |

Currently enjoying the stacking buffs to Penetrate and Critical. (Critical Rating by 30 per stack for 8 seconds. This effect can stack up to 5 times) Penetrated Critical = Kersplat! Doesn't mean its most useful, but quite fun at this stage of gameplay. :) |

Yep I think I tried to do a jack of all trades with a bit of everything but coming to the conclusion (based off of blue mountain mobs) that you need to pick 1 or 2 and go from there. What passive gives you the increase in crit and how does it work? I am currently at work and not able to check ingame

Originally posted by Aericyn Same here. I have a decent shotgun/blade build with a few passives from the elementalist line. The penetrating criticals are out of control. Especially with that passive that gives a guaranteed critical every 7 attacks. It's devastating if you time it right. I 2 shotted a guy in Fusang last night. Granted he probably had lowbie gear but it was still funny. I can just imagine the look on his face. lol

Originally posted by jdnyc LOL I've stated numerous times that I pre-ordered the game because I like the stories, the investigation missions and the scenery. I'm not sure about the longevity of the game, the story content is bound to run out eventually and the investigation quests are only fun the first time around but it'll keep me entertained for a month, hopefully. Just because I'm critical of certain aspects doesn't mean that I hate the game. Moreover, I voice my criticism because I like the game and wish it to be better.
