I mean, I never played it beyond 4 days in beta and I will never return to it, even if it goes F2P. Then why the hell am I here every day to check up on it's status?
Someone please, stop me! |

It's like poking a bloated corpse with a stick. Morbid fascination. |

Originally posted by tuppe99 I guess this is the SWTOR anonymous thread. I am so ambivalent about this game. On the one hand it's a horrible train wreck commanded by imbeciles, and fueled by dark fate. At the same time it is Star Wars, and so I look for hope in each passing update that the game will someday be more like what it should have been (according to my tastes of course). You want to throw away your money developing something stupid, go ahead. |

I read here too. I'd really like to see EA/Bioware turn the game around. I'm not sure I expect it. |

Personally, im waiting for SWG 2.0 to come out, but that wont happen until SWTOR shuts down. So, i keep a keen eye on SWTORs demise. |

Because it's great watching poorly made cash-cows go down in flames. There's no shame in watching EA fumble around like a child. |

This is my reason for checking in on this abomination every day. |

Originally posted by Atheenah Lol that p.o.s couldn't support a million subs either, if TOR does go down in flames (which it still probably won't) I doubt the next star wars mmo if there is one is going to qualify as anything remotely attached to the train wreck that was SWG which really had a hard time of even reaching the hype factor of TOR. as for the op maybe it's because misery loves company. You are miserable and somehow it makes you feel better to think there is someone out there so much bigger than you in just as much misery. |

Originally posted by MMOarQQ I did this when I was young. Me and my brother saw a deer carcass in the bushes by the road, obviously it had been hit. We came back on the weekend to see if it was still there and it was. The body was really round which we thought was odd so we got the proverbial stick and proceeded to do said poking. A few details: Monday to Friday in June that year was 85-91 degrees, sunny with no chance of rain. Certain realities of physics became apparent at that point, mainly, that if you poke a sharp stick into a gas bloated belly of a week old dead deer in the summer it might be a good idea to duck. Or at least not stand there in shock with your mouth open like my brother did. There may a lesson in this somewhere but I can't stop laughing when I think of his face the first time mom served lasagna after that. There is NO miracle patch. 95% of what you see in beta won't change by launch. Hope is not a stategy. |

I don't have a morbid fancination I just really would love to see a game company that fails to listen to testers and true fans wake up and get a clue or two or just fail and go away. . For Some reason this facinates me to a certain degree. I have watched developers who are genius at what they do completely fail to grasp an ounce of common sense when creating a virtual online world. I think I do get a cheap thrill watching developers sweat when they have been proven wrong even though the huge ego's won't let them admit it. It's like having a boss that a total arse hat get beat on by his boss for being lousy at his job. just makes food taste better for some reason that day.
In TORs case, I do get a little giddy when they have to break down and add something that might actually make the game fun. it means people are talking with their wallets and thats the way it's supposed to be when your a consumer who payed for a product that has more limations then my wifes restraining order. |

Well, you have a crush on it. And one day, may not be tomorrow, but one day, you're going to end up on its doorstep, a blubbering mess, pleading to get in. :P On a serious note, it's probably because it was the third most hyped game in the last five years after Warhammer Online and Guild Wars 2. When there's such hype, people do tend to stick around to get a clear picture of the aftermath. |

You are not the only one don't worry. I was waiting swtor a lot, i loved bioware games, i was happy when the game came out, and i was sad when i unsubbed... and now i continue to check the game over and over even if i never hit the "resub" button.
Some hidden dark part of me chuckles everytime i check the game and poke my heart with a sharp stick saying "I told you so moron" , another is still there.. hoping that the game came around (Of course, personal tastes, what means caming around for me will differ for others).
Maybe like me you look at things and try to see better days, promises and reflections of a possible future "if" something change. http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5120/7210363296_8357bee9de.jpg |

This is a long time hobby of mine, watch clueless developers spend a fuckton of money on something that obviously is a big pile of steaming dung and see all the halfwits get all hyped about the said pile. And then watch it all go down as expected. It literally is like a slo'mo trainwreck. It's quite entertaining really, better than most games (no grind involved) and absolutely free too! Next big failshow should be coming around next year with the release of TESO. Get your popcorn ready! Disclaimer: I only do this with the big boys, indie devs are another thing. |
