Book of course. They are more immersive, cost less money, and take up a fair amount of time in thier own right. To me it has nothing to do with not likeing SWTOR or thinking TSW is a money grab ripoff. It has everything to do with nothing being able to replace a good book as far as entertainment goes. |

You can always do like I plan to do; Read a book during your holiday in the sun, while playing TSW in the late nighthours when you feel the need to interact some with others, while playing a game. |

Spend $25 on The Walking Dead to get the kind of story interaction that should have been in SWToR. Incidentally, this will let you avoid the rest of the game outside of the voiced cut scenes which really isn't all that important. Join the League For Gamers. |

Read a book if those are your only options. Maybe find a local game store if you have one and play some TCGs, tabletop mini wargames, or even join a RPG group, and roll some REAL die, instead of having a "random number generation program" do it for you.
Enjoy to summer, unless you are southern hemi, then enjoy the winter. |

Im not going to play tsw, it has failcom wrote all over it. I cancelled my sub to swtor I have days until the end of August, but I not logged in since may. All those free days that gave us is wasted on me. What I done is got myself a bass boat and started fishing, and getting out into the real world.

Read a book! =D My humble suggestion: A Song of Fire and Ice series (the first book of which is "Game of Thrones"). |

Why not all three? |

This is called a false dilemma. There is no need to choose. You can do one, two or all three. Personally, I play games, read novels, watch movies & anime ... now time management is an issue but there is no point in giving up one for another. |

I say go start Wheel of Time. Or if you like graphic sexual violence, try the Sword of Truth series. Maybe some vampire novels for sport. |

TSW is far from same ole same ole. Books are always a good choice, but TSW is called "the thinking man's mmo". It's a really fun game.

Def not resub SWToR, TSW is much superior game. And it never hurts to read a book AND play TSW (which is like reading a fine book) |

If you are the kind of person who has the patience to read books, TSW looks like a good choice of entertainment - between the book reading. ;) |

Read a book, it is better than SWTOR. TSW is worse than SWTOR and the book and in my honest opinion. |

Read a good sci-fi book. I recommend you DUNE by Frank Herbert. |

Originally posted by Betaguy It highly depends on the book. Books are like games. There are very good books, and very bad books. If you like military sci-fi, i highly recommend David Weber. He almost has no misses. |

I have to agree with the majority and read a book.
TSW is really bad... like free to play bad. SWTOR is pretty bad too... At least there was a story behind it I wont be going back to either.
At least with a book, theres a sense of accomplishment when your done. |

It is very easy to say read a book because it sounds like a smart answer. If you are going to read a book make sure it is a good book. Most mass market paperbacks are barely worth the paper they are printed on. They are not intended to be good books, they are intended to entertain and a mediocre book is just as much a waste of time as TV or video games. If you are going to read something read a classic and make it worth your time. Herbert, Asimov, Wells, Clarke, Bradbury, Dick, Huxley, Orwell, Heinlein, Le Guin, Tolkien, Verne, Vonnegut to keep it roughly in the realm of SciFi/Fantasy.
As for the games. TSW is interesting for its story and character progression. Of course you need to like that kind of story but if you are into X-files or horror in general then it can be a good diversion. And it is certaintly not the same old thing as far as game design goes but then I like open ended character development. For me it definitly falls into the "Worth a try" category. SWTOR has made some good improvements. Nothing earth shattering but it is getting better. The populations on the destination servers are definitly up. Lots of people on fleet and many planets. And the group finder was much needed. Much easier to get a group now. It is a good time to give SWTOR another go if you already have it and you wanted to see more of the story. That is what I am doing right now, simply enjoying the story. SWTOR was never a bad game, it just didn't do enough to distinguish itself from WoW and everything else. Either are fine as time wasters go and no worse than most novels. But the best thing would be to not waste too much of your time and pick a good novel or some other useful project.
