I'd say the jury is still out with TSW.The combat,to me,was boring. But the atmosphere/theme was awesome.
ToR? read a book...hell, read the dictionary instead. |

You can never go wrong with a good book! I just finished reading the Hunger Games. Good book and was a good read. Also maybe look into some of the older D and D books....I still am a huge fan of the Forgotten Realm and Dragonlance books. Just start out with the older ones and you will have tons and tons of reading to do! |

Book would be my choice. The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man. -- George Bernard Shaw |

I picked up TSW last night so I haven't got far in it yet, about a dozen quests through Innsmouth. It's not a bad game really, but don't.. I really push this point.. DON'T go into the game expecting a typical MMO experience. Play it as a single player game with co-op, otherwise you'll be disappointed. I read a few threads around here stating that it was basically a single player game with co-op and that's the mindset I had going in, so I'm not disappointed. If I'd gone in expecting an MMO I would have quit by the end of the night. It's a good single player game though. |

In my opinion TSW is the best themepark game out there at the moment, nothing thats due out this year is going to come clsoe not even GW2.. For me TSW feels fresh and for a themepark MMORPG thats awesome..
I am not the biggest fan of this type of MMO but i think its going to keep me playing for some time.. |

My book recommendation would be Flowers for Algernon. I confess that I cried at the end... Such a sad story, but still so great. :)

For now, stick with the book. My recommendation, if you like fantasy, but are tired of same ol' Knights, Elves and Wizards: Walter Moers: The 13 1/2 Lives of Captain Bluebear. Most creative, subversive fantasy you're going to read in a while.
On games: I don't really see SWTOR recovering any time soon. TSW is definitely worth a look, but maybe not now. Revisit in a month or 2, when the first month of subs is in effect. |

SWTOR will keep you entertained, I would not play TSW for a couple of months yet and I would recommend reading a book even when you have a MMO to play. I know it is heresy, but you can read and game during the same day. :) |

Read a book. No matter what else is in the list of possible choices a book is always a good idea. When all has been said and done, more will have been said than done. |

TSW is basically SW:TOR in current days setting. Same style, take SW:TOR, replace spaceship with Agartha, planets with random spots on the Earth, and you have TSW. I got bored of TSW very quickly, faster than SW:TOR which lasted me 5 months. Very linear game despite the promising skill based character development. |

Originally posted by The_Korrigan yeah yeah. Why don't you go to the GW2 forums talk about how awesome and flawless that game is? Am i the only one confused by the OP? Between the 2 games is normal, but, a book? OP, book is the way to go, but, as many have said, can't you multitask? The question is very weird IMO. OP, what do you like in terms of mmorpgs? Would help everyone determine if TSW is a good game for you. Or if we should recomend other games. But book is always good. Or, just go for the obvious. Internet porn. |

Originally posted by slowpoke68 I like TSW, but I guess a book might be interesting as well. I would go for the books. Loved the Hunger Games, A song of Ice and Fire and Gotrek and Felix serie from Warhammer and would pick those over TSW. Guess it depence how much you really like reading :P The Convenant sounds great actually and might read it myself. I love dutch history
Once I start reading a book I personally have a hard time multitasking. I finished the whole hunger games series in 8 days :P.

I did a rather long review of TSW in the review section, I tried to list elements of the game and how I saw them, also compared often with SWTOR. TSW is a breath of fresh air after SWTOR BUT it is far from perfect and has more bugs. Right now, there are a lot of choices including Tera having a free trial. I like TSW but whether you would depends on what burned you out. The major winner for TSW is the environment, it just looks nice to be in a realistic world for once. |
