well in GW2 the bad guys really do burn the village to the ground or destroy the structure and often times you get a entire new set of events based on if the group succeeds or fails.

I dont like themeparks or F2P but I can understand why alot of themepark players would be hyped for GW2. I hope the game turns out to be a winner for them. |

It isn't hype. Learn what hype actually is, please. I'm not going to make a big post about this yet again, but, put simply, you are wrong, and you don't know what hype is. Also, you make it clear that you know nothing at all about the game itself. You don't get the excitement (again, not hype; for hype look to EA) because you don't know what makes the game so great. People who have played the game know why it is so great. "There are two great powers, and they've been fighting since time began. Every advance in human life, every scrap of knowledge and wisdom and decency we have has been torn by one side from the teeth of the other. Every little increase in human freedom has been fought over ferociously between those who want us to know more and be wiser and stronger, and those who want us to obey and be humble and submit." — John Parry, to his son Will; "The Subtle Knife," by Phillip Pullman |

Originally posted by Istavaan LOL I went back to read the OP because I didn't remember spotting anything remotely TSW fanboyish and you know what, there isn't. And at no point did the OP state to know what the game was or was not. That is why he asked questions. Seems to be the only fanboy here is you. Grow up and realise people can like different games, have no problem playing for things they like and just because they don't have the same opinion as you doesn't make them wrong. Some friendly advice, grow up. |

Originally posted by xDayx I can't really argue the themepark aspect....but, GW2 is not F2P. It is B2P. You still have to buy the game in order to play it. Once you buy it, you won't have to spend another dime if you don't want to.
And yes, I think the game will be a winner. In fact, in my book it already is. |

OP you're seriously misinformed about PvE. 25 huge explorable zones with hidden content and events that change, eight dungeons each with different modes and paths, five playable races each with their own starting areas and unique storylines, content that never becomes redundant because you out leveled it, eight professions with unique playstyles and huge cities with mini games and social hubs. GW2 is kicking off with far more PvE content than a hell of a lot of other recent releases have. |

Asking someone to explain why it appeals to their taste and not yours is kinda dumb.
As for the 'not much PvE', based on reading what some random internet dude (who probably hasn't even played it either)... Heres a clue- Comments threads are not a good place to get knowledge. |

Sounds like he thinks he knows what the game is all about....
And a short look through his post history shows he is definitely a fan of TSW.
Not supporting any specific argument, just reminding you of the facts.... |

Whether the OP is a TSW fan or not (And seriously, WTF does being Norwegian have to do with anything? I'm an American and you don't see me praising everything EA does), he asked fairly honest, valid questions. Answer them honestly and fairly. Yelling "troll!" every time someone that likes another game shows up just makes the GW2 community look as bad as a lot of its detractors say it is.

Do your research from creditable sources and after becoming an informed consumer make the following choice.
1. Buy it 2. Don't buy it. |

You know what I don't get? Threads like this. What can't you get about a person being excited about a game that has certain features that appeal to them but not you? Remember... all I'm offering is the truth. Nothing more. |

People like different things. I, for one, don't understand why so many people derive enjoyment from needlepoint. And yet, I don't go to needlepoint forums and claim that the only reason all those people enjoy needlepoint is because they are too cheap to buy a sewing machine. I realize that you may not like GW2, and may not get the hype, but that does not make anyone else's opinion less valid. Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob? |

Hype or not. Who cares. If you can't tell if the game is for you or not based on your own research wait for the free trial that will come eventually and try it then and find out for yourself. |
