Originally posted by Aerowyn I admit that with a post like this I'm no better than GW2 trolls but at least I don't spend hours every day bashing GW2. Just tired of all this hatered. The only reason I bother is because I saw how GW2 fanbois trolled SWTOR during it's launch last December and derailed every single topic. Just don't want this happen again. |

Originally posted by colddog04 i see but cash shop is optional and is just clothing mostly so I don't see that as being more expensive than others.. also TERA has a shop as well.. but I see your point I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. Your confused, if you take a look at the GW2 forums, you will see thread after thread of bashing comming from TSW, SWTOR and D3 players. But to be fair, thats just what these guys do, and no game is safe from them. However, I do find it hilarious you would think that only GW2 players do this... seriously that is just way off the mark. |

Originally posted by Piiritus I don't really remember much of anyone talking about GW2 that much back when SWTOR released actually.. i read most of those threads on that forum then since I played the game. Most people trolling were just disgruntled star wars fans or disgruntled mmo fans wishing swtor was a sandbox or more of a game to take the themepark genre forward not back... I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. Originally posted by Aerowyn I didn't realise TERA released with a cosmetic cash shop with a sub.
It's just an opinion. I just don't understand why all of those items aren't available in game for the sub of $15 from every player. It seems reasonable to me that they would be and it's just a small part of the reason I won't be purchasing. I really hope games don't start acting like this is normal behavior. Fortunately, it seems like they are tending to go either Box + Sub (less often), B2P + Shop or F2P + Shop.
Maybe if I felt like the game was a 10/10 I'd just say, fuck it, it's awesome! SWTOR is the greatest mmo ever! |

Originally posted by Piiritus I've always tried to be respectful and diplomatic when posting on other games' forums, even admonishing others when I thought they'd gone too far. Now I just don't care. It's a bit of a juvenile, tit-for-tat reaction to the trolling on the GW2 boards that people like you don't ever seem to recognize, but it does keep my blood pressure lower. If that makes people like you hate on GW2, I'm good with that. Your presence won't be missed. |

This silly thing again. I mean, I see some pretty silly accusations on these forums... But "TSW is being attacked by GW2 Fanbois because their game sucks/they're jealous/they're afraid" takes the cake.
As far as I can tell, most GW2 fans just don't give a crap about TSW. There are a surprising number, myself included, that like both games for what they are -- two very different games.
There are some GW2 fans that don't like TSW, not necessarily because they're GW2 fans, but because of the game. TSW is an 'acquired taste' kind of game. And if you're not into horror-themed adventure-RPG hybids, this isn't going to be an appealing game on the technical merits because, even though I like it, I'm not blind to this game's faults. Add in Funcom's history of 'meh' and the incredibly aggressive monetization of the game (box + sub + cash shop) you're going to catch some flak.
And, of course, there are the semi-pro trolls that attack everything and go from popular game to popular game dumping on it...
But to pretend it's a hoard of GW2 fans... ROFTLMAO

Originally posted by MosesZD There are and have been certain posters bashing TSW with passion and all melting the next minute in GW2 forums. So, if someone does not like a certain MMO then why the hell should s/he spend hours convincing everyone else how bad that certain game is? I like only a few games and don't like most of them and I think there are many like me but why be bothered then? If I don't like it I won't touch it and move one. Oh, and I'm not talking about people who just say that TSW is not for them or they don't like it, I'm talking about people making tens of posts saying this in every single thread and starting some with arguments pulled out of their arses. If you want to see some well done work by GW2 fanbois then go and read SWTOR launch time forum. Man, that game was trolled so hard that I actually felt sad about SWTOR fans. |

Originally posted by Aerowyn Back then I did some post history searches in cases where someone just lied. But I think that I've gone too far accusing GW2 folks for every problem and started to turn into a complete arse myself here. So I apologize if I hurt someone and I sincerely hope that GW2, which will be released in 2 months, will be a good MMO that caters to all of it's fans. Who knows, maybe I buy it myself if the reviews are good as a side game. After all it does not have a monthly sub. Again, my apologies. |

Let's face it...this site is full of hatred from one game to another. No one is immune. With that said we also have to learn to separate trolling post from those that are honest and geniuene critiques of a game. Granted not easy with so many post at times. I know I didn't find TSW to be my cup of tea (at least for now as with MMO's things can change) but I don't bother posting here about it because the issues I had have already been spoken about by others. No point beating a dying horse...or is it a dead horse? So I mainly get issue with those who post over...and over...and over the same stuff. They can see the exact same type of thread on the first page and will still make a new thread about the same subject. And then a day or so later make the same post in another thread all over again. That gets tiresome. I honestly don't understand the mindset of anyone who wants a game to fail. I want more options. I like having choices instead of being pigeon-holed to one game like I had to with WoW for some years. The fact there are some actual games I may like finally coming I'm happy as hell. Hoping some of my issues with TSW are resolved or at least other things made so damn awesome that I can ignore them so I can make it my second game along with GW2. More choices are better! |
