It would most likely be ncsoft that would provide ad posters and maybe even guessed dates to stores, while ncsoft doesnt have anet on the ground with their foot on anets throat there is no doubt that regardless of what anet is saying ncsoft is starting to shove them around and have obviously set the takedown and chokeout for dec 31 regardless of if anet is ready or not..

Anet doesnt need the fans trying to rush them as well they are very likely already under a lot of pressure to get this game finished..

OK, What we KNOW:

-All zones above level 35 are not currently avaialble in beta.

-Sylvari and Asura starter zones are not available in beta.

We do not know WHY. Possible reasons:

-These areas are unfinished/buggy and require more work

-These areas do no exist yet

-Anet is intentionally keeping us in a smaller pool of zones for testing purposes

-Zombie Alien Hamsters from Next Wednesday are holding back the zones as part of a terrible plot to ruin the world.

We don't know why they haven't been unveiled. And we can speculate all we want; but until we DO know for sure, blanket statements of "the entire game is read, release!" and "40% of the game isn't even in yet" are equally ridiculous

The game is still buggy, there is still bad server performance and you still can't meele in large events. My guess September-October. Not that I'll be participating at launch but I doubt you'll see it anytime soon.

Nah can't say I'm the least bit fuming, I would rather have a game release when it is truly ready rather then when some corporate fat cat or impatient fan damns it should be released. Heck if I had my way all MMO's would release a year after their announced ETA.

I find it funny you missed the whole point of that statement noone knows all 2nd hand information because arena.net or ncsoft hasnt given anyone a true picture or the reality of the game.I could say I am a closed beta tester and it looks like a aug 26th release ...do you know if I am telling the truth or not........your choice because you have nothing to fall back on?

No it hasn't. GW2 has to this point in time not been advertised on Steam. If you have however seen this then please provide proof. It would be a major surprise as I too am on Steam quite regularly and if this game had appeared on Steam it would be all over the internet by now.

As to your questions:

1) I am not a developer but the game is coming out November 21st at 11:59pm.

2) Thor 'GW2 is not an MMO' Brand is wrong, the game is actually only about 10% finished. They still have to paint all those Rytlocks afterall!

3) They are guessing. Just like they do with EVERY release when there is no date set. All they do is correct the date once it's been announced, but in the meantime it allows them to gather in pre-orders.

There was hype for a June release because some muppet printed out a black and white picture of the guild wars 2 logo with a June release date underneath. This picture was then spread on the internet.

There's now speculation for a release date anywhere between August - December because, surprise surprise NO ONE KNOWS THE ACTUAL DATE. All we know is that the game will release in 'the year of the dragon'. That's it, fineto.

Does it bother me? Not in the slightest, and I've bought a CE and a standard edition. They want the game to be perfect out the gate and I'm prepared to give them the time to get it there. Year of the Dragon is good enough for me.

From our perspective yes. There are still closed betas and other builds we don't have, ArenaNet has a more improved build of the game already and is working hard. Everything you see in GW2 now might not be the same in release.

no problem with that at all , I am no impatient but would like to know when the game might come out or what state it is in ?

If you have no problem letting ncsoft have what is it like 175dollars for 1year or 2years great ...its your right and I support you on that but you not even curious as to when you might be able to play at all or how the game is coming along...

Me if  shelled out 175dollars I want to be updated on the status of it not so they rush and put out a shitty game but just checjk in once in a while let me know how the games doing and what are the major concerns of it....

ps long development time guarntee nothing except that you waited a longer time if the game is crappy example swtor development since i think 2001 or ff14 5year development , 2nd tier games like tera how are they doing they took quite a long time to develop.
