I've seen quality designed P2P and F2P MMO's out there that's been going strong for 8 years and then some that just can't even be playable as a "F2P" or not worth the P2P model with the pace of updates and content they deliver.
From P2P I'm currently subbed to WOW. Once a great MMORPG that could justify its P2P model is far from that now. Its playerbase is slapped with cash shop, pricey expansions and services.
Over the years I've seen its servers bleeding players and that greatly impacts players experience yet Blizzard is not doing server mergers.
With a dying P2P model and some calculations made I realized I could save tons of $ if I can find alternative to WOW. $70 from canceled annual pass, $50 on upcoming expansion. If I did a guild transfer I would have to pay $35 to get a single chr with all my gold to a populated server. That would also force me to give up on my 8 other high level alts. So by the end of this year I would be forced to fork out $160 and another $160 for playing the expansion next year.
So I'm looking at $320 lost for somewhat enjoyable MMORPG for the next year. With abused arena system and so many issues like class balance that's been plaguing the game I ask the community:
What other P2P/F2P MMO's u think are doing a good or decent job with their model out there. Losing $320 until the end of 2013 on a single MMORPG is not in my budget.
