I'd have thought most of you would have been used to it by now, we always seem to be waiting for a couple of years for the next MMO. Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them. |

ArcheAge will launch at the end of this year in Korea, and the goal is to launch it in North America towards the end of 2013, or the beginning of 2014. Once we have a publisher set and the game’s launched in Korea, things will be clearer for the US.

we have waited for aion 3 year, for Gw2 maybe more.for tera also 3+ and u couldnot wait 1 and a half year? and what i will do is,if eu and na publisher will be different like ncsoft and gameforge in aion, like enmasse and frogster i will go 100% in na.eu is the last country wich gets updates and patches so screw all eu and with there laging servers and crashings. |

Originally posted by alias333 Aion sucks and so does Tera IMHO and I was never waiting on them, ever. GW2 on the other hand is the prime example of what I mean by I hate waiting. We have known about it for far too long and it's made even worse every BWE that I play in because it is so good and we still have no release date. So yeah, I don't want to wait 2 years for ArcheAge, I'm tired of having games hyped for so long. |

Originally posted by elocke Yeap.. I hate the wait too. And i dont see any reason why they reveal there games so far before release. For marketing or building up hype 6 month is more than enough. Ok, i can understand indy companies, they need investors, publisher, they need to draw attention to get the money, and are even capable of finishing it.. but everyone else? PS: Well.. maybe then even WoD and AA release at the same time, even if i think WoD will take even longer before release. I really should not think about it.. so disturbing. |

MMORPGs are no longer about the mass multi-user anymore *sadly* |

Originally posted by Apraxis Would not count on it. CCP shrinked WoD team heavily like half a year ago? To contentrate on EvE and Dust 514. Sure once Dust is released and now while EvE is getting stablizied again, they propably will put more reasources in it again. Yet - few months ago when I was looking info about WoD it was just getting out pre-production stage. So I would bet like 2015 for WoD earliest.
Well unless CCP plans to release WoD as a very small game feature wise and then slowly build on top of it. I doubt it though. Besides Carbon & your average PC people have does not seem ready yet to handle all those psysics of in. example Clothes and very heavy shading and lighting - CCP was showing in Carbon engine tech demo in mmorpg yet.

I hope westernization does not mean making it more themepark than sandbox
Anyone expected AA earlier than 2013/2014? It has been mentioned many times by many people in the AA section of the forum that it will take at least a year from the time they get a publisher which they still dont. At least for me, 2013/2014 is no surprise
There is a possibility that Titan will be released in 2014. Would be interesting to see these two compete.
Otherwise, almost no new information in this interview. I appreciate that they mention some kind of new special dungeons. What I appreciate the most about ArcheAge is the innovation it seems to bring Playing: Nothing atm My game concept thread: http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/369707 (any feedback appreciated) |

Oh shit, I'm a bit edgy on what he said about the "westernisation". I hope they don't let any western developers lay a fucking finger on this, what seems to be - gem of a game. Western MMO developers as of late are narrow-minded, boring people who want everything to be hit max level, then grind gear in instanced mini-games. None of this western shit in ArcheAge please! _________ Watching: Darkfall: Unholy Wars, Elder Scrolls Online, ArcheAge, Camelot Unchained, Bless, Black Desert Online, Lineage Eternal, MU 2. Always hating on instances in MMOs! Open worlds, open PvP, territory control and housing please. More persistence, more fun. |

Nice
Thanks I'm taking a shot of vodka every time I see a reference to a game being a WoW or Diablo clone. |

If you don't want a westernised version go play the Korean one :P
Looking forward to this game eventually hitting the EU, seems to be very ambitious & a lot less cookie-cutter than the bulk of Asian titles. |

Originally posted by alias333 Think the frustrations is because that's on top of how long we've already waited. and it just seems crazy that "westernization" should take so long. and most of that time is wasted on changes most of us don't even care about. and maybe even some changes that make the game worse. When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world. |
