So far we only know two things about the release date.. "when it's ready" and "definitively 2012". What can men do against such reckless hate? |

Originally posted by Reskaillev Well, first half of 2012 ends in 10 days, so I guess by now it's a given unless they pull an apple "and it's already in stores!!!" thing.. :) What can men do against such reckless hate? |

Originally posted by L0C0Man I work for a computer retail company in Canada and we receive emails from our head office with upcoming game releases. For June 26th, one of them was "Spec Ops: The Line" for PS3...the other was "Guild Wars 2". I was pretty confused when I read that, but the amount of copies it said we'd be getting also said 0. I know that's it's not really going to arrive, but I'll admit I got really excited for a few seconds. |

Originally posted by dellirious13 Saw an advertising about a month ago by Fry's Electronics that stated "June 28th 2012" as the release date. Then about 5 days later ArenaNet flat-out pointed out that no release date has been set ... except for ... "2012" ... and "when it is ready". Tales of Tyria podcast managed to throw out a possible estimate. They stated that there will most likely be another BWE prior to an official announcement, followed approximately a month later by the official release of the title. So according to their rough estimate the date falls somewhere around the tail-end of August. Who knows for sure? Just be glad that ArenaNet actually cares about releasing a good, solid, and polished game and that they are not going to go the way of FFXIV.

Originally posted by ragnarrog 'Cause for some people, when you've waited a certain amount of time you start to lose interest. I remember this happened to me as well with the original GW1. They had a ton of BWE and I was starting to get really excited. Then at some point I was like 'when is this game ever going to come out!?' and kinda lost interest. Then it launched, and I remembered all over again why I was stoked with the game to begin with. I'm not saying that this game will follow the same trend, but some people just need a break from it, and to come back later. Regardless of how good a game is, repeatedly playing a beta build for too long can cause burnout quite easily. |

Originally posted by QSatu As BWEs are for people that already bought the game plus a few free keys from various sites, I discount their effectiveness as a marketting/hype tool. I imagine Anet will have a massive stress test weekend as a marketting tool once they go gold. People waited years for Duke Nukem 3d...years for Diablo 3 (like it or not)...don't think a few months waiting is gonna diminish the hype much. GW2 has been tops here for months. |
