I wonder how some people can complain about diablo 3 not being inovative AND not being like Diablo 2, so people want a game wich is like D2 but diferent? Good luck with that. |

Originally posted by Banisco I've never seen that complaint actually. The most common complaint is that IT's LIKE D2 too much AND lacking innovation.

Yeah I was kinda expecting something new from Diablo 3.. same with Starcraft 2. I doubt we will ever see anything "new" from blizzard until they release a new franchise. |

Originally posted by dooney Blizzard does 'new'? Since when?! e.g. Diablo was in development by a non-Blizzard company. Blizzard came in to assist, saw Diablo and outright bought the company and renamed it 'Blizzard North'. Wonder why there seems to be more haters on the internet? Read this by an actual marketing guy to find out why. |

Originally posted by nomatics856 I will agree that those reason are just hating, other than #3. Its graphics are not impressive at all, none of it. (doesn't make it a bad game , and ill still play it, but it does have shitty graphics ... this and i liek wow graphics, sure they are dated but i like them). Diablo 3 is not an improvemnt over d2 .. how about that? Most people who played both are going to agree that d2 was a better game by far, you can say i don't know this etc.. Your right but i am going to maintian it.
Want to play a good diablo esk game play median XL its a mod for d2 and its AMAZING. Blizzard could have learned form it.. they went the opposite direction, easy play, no thought, etc. people will play and enjoy d3 (i know i will) but not even a fraction as much as people did d2 (i know i won't). http://modsbylaz.hugelaser.com/ So yeah they are somethign that is called disapointed. Blizzard has all the money and took all the time in the world... and this is what we got. Mind you billzard designed this game with a new concept in mind, they had betas etc of it and their internal tester etc. chewed it apart , they moved that design closer back to what we saw in d2, but there a remnaints left, and they are not appealing.

I hate Diablo 3 not because it's Blizzard, but because I waited a decade for a sequel, and got one of the most disappointing games of my lifetime. I played SWTOR longer than I did Diablo 3, and that was even with me knowing I'd quit SWTOR in a short period of time.
D3 is broken and ruined, and will take an incredible series of patches, plus a change in mindset for anything to improve. |

Originally posted by Psychow 1. Act 2 Inferno. Quit after the patch came out simplifying it when I realized how much of the rest of the game I disliked anyway. 2. All of them actually, 2 of them to level 60. 3. Itemization is god awful. I took two characters to 60, never saw a legendary. My girlfriend saw one drop. 99% of the equipment we used was from the AH, and not actual drops. 4 players instead of 8 players. The fact that Jay Wilson, who is one of the big decision makers, essentially stated that D2 was not a fun game and we look at it with rose colored glasses - problem of course is people STILL play D2 where as people are quitting D3 after a month. The game touted not having cookie cutter builds, and I'd argue it is actually WORSE than D2 was. You are forced into certain skills to survive inferno or you wont get anywhere. Up until a patch a few weeks back, it actually promoted solo play rather than group play because Inferno with 4 people was not possible. The game is built around the use of the RMAH - even item drops are effected by what is listed on the AH (do some reading on that, its great). Graphics are dated upon release. They have to bring down servers for hours upon hours - did you know GW2 did a patch during beta weekend, and the downtime was an estimated 10 seconds? Not exaggerating. Some achievements do not track properly. The fact that you hit max level within a week - hitting 99 in D2 wasnt a huge deal, but you at least felt like you were always working towards *something* besides just item drops - so even if you got crappy drops, you still gained just a bit more XP. Thats about all the random complaints I can think of at the moment. 4. I am not simply a MMO player. For example, in the past few months I have played a mix of (besides D3), League of Legends, Battlefield 3, Rift, GW2 betas, Tribes Ascend, Path of Exile, Borderlands, and then a few others. I dont easily get bored of games - SWTOR was simply an example of one I knew I'd only play for a month and be done with it. 5 - Played solo and with others. Problem is, I have many more friends than just 3, and it sucks when theres 5-6 of us online, and we used to group on D2 - a game made over a decade ago - and in D3 we can not group. 6 - Tried to farm, ended up forced to use the AH to progress.
Edit: and more on Jay Wilson's view of D3... http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/5911771771 |

Originally posted by nomatics856 Diablo 3 has recieved a TON of fanboism to the point of people being like this tops the diablo franchise, I am confused at people not buying this game etc etc. Now some fanboism may be justified like they have the best cinematics or Diablo III has monks! Those are understandable, but the game got glorified for the stupidest things for example
1. (It`s challenging), this one is very very dumb, you played inferno Act I for 45 hours trying to get a decent drop, not even the whole act, because really you need better gear to be here, so go grind Hell difficulty for years to try and get your gear. Oh wait, you can't get it on hell difficulty. Well that does make it challenging, to the point of futile. 2. (RMAH) this was almost number one, ALMOST, who cares if Blizzard taxes people for buying items in the game? Governments have been doing it for the longest time, through income taxes, sales taxes, etc. If people wanna buy items they will buy items, if they wanna sell items they will sell items, Blizzard just wants to profit from anything they can. People say this is pay 2 win, because it is. Diablo 3 has no competition in the RMAH, people are going to be paying their Blizzard taxes either way, whether they spend 8 hours grinding diablo 3 all day or 8 hours grinding at work to get those items. I see no difference. If you bought the game, you basically applied for a job in the Blizzard money mill, who wouldn't want that? 3. (Online only isn't a problem), another dumb one, this game doesn't benefit from online only at all, if anything it suffers from less people being willing to play it. When I realized I couldn't play unless I was logged on I realized they don't care about how I want to play, they only want to turn my gaming blood, sweat and tears into profit. The morals of Blizzard feel dark and creepy. 4. (Every other company wants to make a profit, so why hate Blizzard just because they are more extreme about it?). 5. (no other game can compare to Diablo III) The glowering fanboism really makes me want to vomit.
In closing I know a lot of you are like "well thank you big daddy eyelolled, but I STILL LOVE BLIZZARD and Diablo 3 just rox because I take it ***#%## shoot. Well I cant help ya there! All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick. |

Originally posted by nomatics856 #3 Is not dumb, The game needs to differentiate itself from WOW and establish itself as part of the Diablo series. It did not accomplish this in the opinions of many. #2 and #4 go together, and I disagree on #4. First off , an apostrophe denotes the use of multiple words, so they word for "they are" is they're, not their. Secondly, every company is *somewhat* about the money, while Blizzard is *all* about the money. There is a huge difference, but if you do not see the flaws in Diablo 3, I am pretty sure you'll refuse to acknowledge that. Error: 37. Signature not found.
