I thought I was going to have to do some research to figure out the composer based on teh photograph clue they give you for the Dr.'s Computer.... Then they gave you the mind-numbing hints...

Apart from that, that really is pretty accurate, as far as I am concerned. None of them gave me more than a moment's pause.

Even if you are highly smart and intelligent to figure out puzzles you are still exaggerating by saying it took you 15 to 20 secs to complete it. I consider myself pretty smart and observant and even i couldn't solve puzzles or find all clues in 15 secs.

That's not an investigation quest, that's the story quest they have made dead easy so aaaanybody, including me can figure it out quite quickly.

The investigation quests are the ones that are marked with a green icon, go check out the one you get from the guy in the Church. I got stuck on tier 3 (or 4?). Had to get some hints from global to get further. Should probably have teamed up with a friend of mine that likes riddles. ;)

Yeah it's easy, but that's because you are doing the more normal quests in TSW. TSW is a game which has added two types of new quests: sabotage and investigation quests. They haven't removed the other types of quests.

Yeah, this. I noticed that some people apparently liked to skip or ignore those types of quests.

I'd play the game at release despite not liking the combat at all, but nah, after I realized that the game has a monthly fee AND a cash shop.... just no. I kinda enjoyed the investigation missions etc. in the beta and the modern day setting is rather appealing, but the game lacks polish and I will not pay for a sub when I can just play GW2 instead. Shame.

On a side note, who cares about reviewers these days.... especially in MMOs, you really have to struggle to find a decent review. IGN gave SWTOR a 9.2/10 after clocking up 150 hours of gameplay... madness.

Some one give this man a prize. My thoughts exactly. TOR is a 9.2 to someone who just started playing MMOs. To a veteran MMO player the score would be about a 7 or less, SWG was a much better Star Wars game in the eyes of many.

As I recall, the serial killer mission was another side-quest offered by norma creed(or whatever her name was, the one iwth the shotgun to the SW). At that point I was full and didn't go back for it.

And you are right, there are quests I didn't do. I didn't do the quest about the remote-controlled plane and the EMP at the skate-park, either.

*shrug.

Did I miss some side-quests? indubitably... How many quests did I do? Well, I don't know the exact number, but I got to t2 in pistols, and was working on my rifle skills, so I would guess that it was quite a few...

I also didn't say that it was not interesting, but it was not challenging...

All I can say about it is that the quests, even if you encounter the regular generic fetch this and kill this quests too just like in any other MMO, on average still require more alertness and thought than what you find in other MMO's. And if you want challenge, I can seriously recommend the missions that have a green laptop icon, the Investigation missions, and besides them the Sabotage missions.

You all just got trolled hardcore. the OP made a silly comment the game sucks and then said "oh no you called me a name on the internet"

He never gave any sort of explanation

THIS

Even the most generic kill and fetch type quests had one or two stages where i had to look for clues, look at the maps and images to complete it. And i had these little 'use your brain' moment in almost every quest i have done so far.

This game is going to be awesome because of the fact that it'll self-weed itself of people not interested in the setting or the puzzles. Sure, you can go kill and fetch as fast as possible, but every NPC that gives quests also averages 5 points of fully voice-overed dialog each being at least 3 layers deep in conversation (clicking until you get the green check). All of which provide background and answers to things you'll encounter later.

It's a game to relish and play slowly. Imagine 3 faction PvP with a noticable lack of combat focused min-maxing rofl-stompers. See ya ADD kids! I can't wait.

Ah, but it seems like you missed all the investigation quests. The quest you mentioned above that only took you 15-20 seconds to figure out is the main story mission, which is dead easy compared to the investigation missions.

In other words, if you like puzzles and/or adventure games, just go back into the game and visit the church or Norma creed and pick up the investigation missions there. (The quests marked with a green icon).

Not with the cluncky animations and crappy graphics in 2012. As I said many times this is a console game they stretched as an MMO. Would have been as good as an RPG - the MMO part just seems to go the same way as TOR.

This isn't what I have found, I finished enough quests to fill the inner circle of assault rifles and then I banked around 100 AP,  pretty much every quest is go to the target area and from there it is self explainatory.   A few times the target area has been off but the target mob would be in an earlier stage/tier red marker.  Assault rifle is much easy mode for killing but at least 19 out of 20 quests are straight foward go here and: pick up or click something, click something in your inventory, kill something quests.  Aside from the bugged or broken quests it is good they are so straight foward.   Repeating quests over and over is the only way to gain the true in game currency and other things.

The few puzzle quests can be hard though and that is due to being vague or ambigiuos.

There is no way people who like min-maxing are going to let TSW go by without trying to break the game. 500 abilities they can combine to make their own overpowered "class". Sorry to dissapoint you. ;)

Japanese developers are known for their inaccurate portrayals of western culture for forever:

Cut the TSW guys some slack.

Heh, you should see the Japanese anime series. They've as good as ALL, even the good ones, funny portrayals of Europe and European cultures and cities. It's more funny, not really offensive, and there's some great anime among them.

Its what im talking about.

Some cultural inaccuracy didn't kill anyone.

Go watch some Legend of Koizumi.

I like the generic cultural references and stereotypes in anime.  The cultural blending is interesting to me too.   I'm an Oregonian (American) of Danish descent.  I see the west stereotyped quite often.  I also see a lot of culutures in the larger cities in the area that don't represent native culture or Northwest culture, but I don't find it offensive.

Maybe those other guys are just easily offended or like to speak and worry for everyone else who might be offended.

QFT

I wish I could say the same about GW2.  I signed up for a beta test and now I get emails trying to sell me seats to the beta weekend.  At least Funcom made keys available for you try and now you know you don't like it without having to waste $60.

You again. I can't believe that you've spent almost all your posts on bashing TSW or AoC, almost as if you hate FC with all your guts as if they've killed your girlfriend. Is there really no MMO that you enjoy, that you like to talk about? All I see you do whenever you post is bashing TSW - or AoC - nothing else.

Looks like there's not 1 bit you like about TSW, not even its quests, can't say I'm surprised. Agree to disagree, so far I had a good time with the missions and quests. Wish you luck with whatever MMO can draw you away from rant campaigning on forums against a game you despise - oh, about quests that are nothing special, TERA's quests really suck big time and makes you want to shoot yourself in the head, but hey, for some they're awesome, so I guess tastes differ.

Yeah maybe we are playing different games then. KIll, fetch escort tasks or quests are staple of MMOS and they are not going anywhere. Even GW2 has it. But in TSW it is not just all straight up shoot them up and collect reward. I have run through Kingsmouth 3 times now and still didn't get bored of missions, in Tera for example i didn't even last the first time.

I believe the game will definitely have it followers like any other mmo, but will be a niche crowd of players.

This is probably a good thing for the die hards, keep out the WoW generation players that are used to high fantasy rich colorful themes and keep more of a older audience of mmo gamers that like this style of mmo gaming.

I got a feeling the TSW community will say to players that don't take a liking to this game that GW2 is that way ---------->

Not with the cluncky animations and crappy graphics in 2012. As I said many times this is a console game they stretched as an MMO. Would have been as good as an RPG - the MMO part just seems to go the same way as TOR.

It's starting already!

You're defending your own ignorance. Brilliant! Im not going to multi quote you since you know what you've been going on about. But to say that Korean people would be offended by "generic asian" level design when referencing a very faithful replica of one of Seoul's oldest residential districts is really sad. Funcom not only references the overall design of a Korean landmark, but details the foliage and wall textures as well as shops and advertisements seen in the actual district. You know they went on location and took tons of photos and videos for reference when making this zone? And yes, I cal it a rant when you bring it up in multiple posts trying do defend your uneducated view. Then fall back on "minor annoyance" when you get called out for not having a clue.

You are entitled to your clearly elitist opinion. I would like to point out that because you spin a quote a certain way, doesnt make it an accurate depiction. No where do i claim all koreans would be offended by the choice of level design. I say quite clearly it is my opinion, that it is an annoyance that results in personal alienation for me personally, and that one could argue that others might feel the same. If people like you cant read that correctly and have to make everything hostile for the sake of your own ego, there is little i can do about it other than ask you nicely to act like a mature adult.

You called out no one, your opinion is just that and even though you are entitled to it, I think your attempts at belittling and egotism hurt whatever opinion you may have. Call me ignorant or uneducated, if it helps fit your confirmation bias then go for it. I'll disagree with your "assessment" and do so in a mature manner, like an adult should.
