5. Similarly to many conspiracy forums, hard facts, official financial reports and official company statements lose battle with speculations, personal feelings and gossips.

6. The numbers. People create their own statistics and numbers for a game, claim they are real, and back them up with absolutely nothing.

7. In discussions people tend to pretend not to see arguments that they can't prove wrong, or that prove them wrong and continue to write out their own arguments. Sometimes discussion turns into multiple monologues. People also like to pick and comment only on arguments they don't agree with.

 

8. People seem to be to lazy to read entire post, yet still comment on it.

9. People use faulty deduction, assuming that characteristics of beliefs of some group applies to the entire group. A really small group of regular posters, has similar opinion about something. Lets say this happens on many forums on the web in many topics. Even entire forum community is only small percent of gamer community. But putting that aside, if a game is subscribed by a million players, a thousand people is 0.1% of million. It is ridiculous to claim that 0.1% is a majority.

10. My favorite. Mature people that complain about mmorpg's. Blaming game companies for not doing their job right, while millions of kids and teenagers enjoy new games, and the income shoots to the roof. Innovation is never innovative enough. Oldschool is never oldschool enough. If it's black it should be white, if it's white, they should have made it black. Refuse to believe that problem might be in their mentality.They gather in small caves called forums and lament together.

Am I the only one seeing this lack of common sense everywhere on this forums? I noticed that there are quite a few people here that try to keep it logical and objective. My question is, why do you struggle so hard and stay here?

The people on this site know everything about everything. They are stockbrokers, they are game developers, they are fortune tellers. And they are all full of ... magic...

Well just shows common sense is not so common. We should start calling it rare sense, because I rarely see it around.

Also, I kind of chuckled when you said people on here use "subjective opinions" because in reality all opinions are subjective. So all of your opinions are also subjective. As far as I know there is no 100% fool proof formula or algorythm that proves if a game is good or bad so really none of this will be objective.

Do you even know what a fact is? For instance your "1. People are really eager to review a game after an hour of gameplay, probably not even leaving the first location" is not a fact, it is merely your speculation (not a fact) which I can imagine is either correctly or incorrectly deduced from your observations.

If you give the impression of not even being able to comprehend what a "fact" is, there is reason to take your whole post with a gigantic grain of salt.

1  and 2 control 70% of the internet atm you got about 29 % trolls and 1 I do not care folks :P

Because alot of older gamers post here. People like you think the world of mmo's is all new and shiny and filled with rainbows and unicorns because you dont know any better.

We on the other hand, have seen all this before, and will see it all again. This in a nutshell, is the awnser to all of your points.

Not to burst your bubble, but that's life. It is not just the forum, look around you, it is everywhere.

I like most of the answers. I'm glad that most of you didn't took it seriously and made fun of it. The other few guys sound moved by it .. something like "truth hurts" and "defense mechanism on".

Some guys thinking I made new account to do this:

Also someone mentioned that I don't know fact definition. It's like I have to write every argument like an essey with every detail because some people can't figure it out on their own.

If someone writes a review that looks incomplete, and then claims "I played it only an hour and then I uninstalled this crap", then it is a fact, that he played an hour and made review out of it. Some may claim that facts don't exist, just our perception bla bla. But that is for other topic, definately not a game forum. There are better places to talk about it, without making offtopic."

It is probably still to short and lack something. I kept it as short and simple at begining so lazy people could read it too.

How long must I be here to notice all this. It's obvious day one. Invite your friend that never been here and let him read some of this for few days. If he's not a chimpanzee, he will know.

Internet forums in a nutshell

Cause this is the internet...where everyones opinions are facts.

More so, people are usually here at work and such or when they have no game to truly occupy there time. I come here to learn. I rant once in awhile. Usually just to learn and see what Bill Murphy has to say since hes the only respectable person on this site. (hasnt seen pokket lately, praise the lord)
