I loved TSW it was so exiting and it's really what i was looking for BUT, after i played the first BWE and i found out this: 1. the game core quality is bad and i would focused here on the way to much instances and lame combat when you compare it to GW2 , you'll feel like it's AOC all over but still AOC was much more fun than this. 2. Pay for the game , pay monthly sub , pay for the shop huhh say what ??? do i need to sell my car to keep playing or something ?? let's face it this shop is not like the wow shop its a part of the game ( not that i agree with wow having a shop ) it feels greedy. what i don't understand why Anet can make such a game like GW2 and with no Sub and Funcom can't do the same, the first thing that comes to my mind is that funcom failed here and i don't have to pay for this failure let them pay for it. so for me i don't see TSW going anywhere tbh, anyway this is just what I think, if ppl think other wise i hope they enjoy the game and have fun in it. :) |

This game wont win Game of Year if its released the same year as Guild Wars 2. |

The reason it probably won't win GOTY - pop culture....the mainstreamers just want an easy grab bag of goody goody fun set in a high fantasy world where they can say "meade" instead of beer...
The reason it can win GOTY - No other game brings anything new to the table. For all the crazy talk about GW2 questing system, it's nothing new. it's been implemented in games like Champion's Online, DC Universe and probably others...reach a certain area, get a quest or objective. Also PQ's belong to WAR. From what I've seen of GW2, it's the same story, same fantasy world with PVP combat....strafe all day and dodge when your bar has enough stamina. Tera - the combat is ok, but RaiderZ combat is actually very similar and, imho, much better...that is FTP....Tera doesnt stand a chance. Neverwinter - who's making that again? Ok, thanks.... TSW offers alot of new, retains the good "old" and gives a whole new atmosphere to immerse yourself in. Skill Wheel is awesome, but you won't realize how great it is until you've played a bit and gotten used to it. Kill x of y quests are the minority in the large lists of quests you'll do...that's most certainly a first. |

Originally posted by wasim470 It's not as benign as WoW's, close though, being all cosmetic stuff but much more of it, and there are xp pots. It's not as extreme as GW2's either. There is no cash to gold conversion and no gear.
As far as the combat I think you need to give it ago on the pvp weekend. I'm hearing great things about Fusang, the persistant warzone. |

If they fix the character creator I will be all over it. That was my main gripe with the beta. Otherwise, a very solid game and different which I have been looking for. I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility for GOTY. If it comes down to box sales however I don't see it happening. I'll be keeping a close eye on it. |

I fonud TSW 10x more enjoyable than GW2...
But I cant see it being the game of the year ro even MMORPG of the year.. I can see that gonig to GW2 or as i now call ti Jesus2.. as for some reason people think its the second coming and dont see it as just another fantasy themepark MMO.. Its not a bad game just nothing special.. saying that the only really different thing about TSW is the world setting.. but i had more fun with TSW so thats what i will be playing. |

GoTY will go to something like Black Ops 2, MMOs will never win against console shooters. Even if you are just talking MMO-only GoTY, competition is far too high for a Funcom game to stand a chance.

Originally posted by cooper85 For the combat i really hope so, am interested in the game but i want a fun combat, am not looking for a game like Tera ( i didn't even buy it ) which is all about the combat, i just want it to be more fun that's all. as for the CS am not against it, i just don't see why it should be there when we already pay a sub every month. i would gladly buy from CS when i feel it's fair and they are giving me a good game that came out of hard work. |

Polo shirt IRL 60 bucks, Polo shirt in TSW 99c (completely made up amount i have know idea) good deal! |

Seeing a lot of other crappy titles getting awards and rave reviews, I wouldnt be surprised if TSW did, even sing-a-long with Bieber for the DS has a good chance, and yes I made that up before any fool bites. ![]() My XIVPad: |

I hope it doesn't win GoTY. Then maybe it wont be flooded by those who don't like the game but only play because it looks popular. I would pay alot more for the sub if it would help keep it a niche game. |

Originally posted by BadSpock I agree. I think it was pretty shitty to even offer a LTS when I believe their plan was F2P from the get go. Once the box sales dry up there really shouldn't be a doubt in anyones mind how this is going to play out. |

Originally posted by bcbully There is a chance, I would comment more but NDA...... What I will say is GW2 in retrospect, if I can speack in future terms, will be looked at as still "childish", not trying to troll just look for an anolagy that is easy to understand. Even with all the" New and shiney" it still is the same grab a quest, drop in to a DE, and kill some mobs. While on the other hand FunCom went ahead and put a browser in-game so you could do the research to complete a quest. I look at it like this. GW2 is like a high level hish-school class, maybe even a college prep courses, TSW is that college class. |

Originally posted by BadSpock Luckily i am not like you and i judge the game on basis of features and content it offers. And so far TSW offersa lot of interesting gampelay features, runs smooth and is not your typical cookie cutter MMO. I could care less for item shops or their track record of bad launches. AO and AOC both today are amazing games. AO was always ahead of its times and AOC though had bad launch still was way better in terms of features and innovative combat it offered. if games goes F2P..big deal. I will still stick to monthly model as it is the best deal always. F2P is just a gimmick. |
