Yup.  We've been doing it for more than 20 years.  The reason we've probably been friends for that long is because we don't kiss each others asses.

I've been looking into TSW and it looks really good.  I might make TSW my sub game, and GW2 my B2P game.  One modern and one fantasy.

There was also a 8 hour stress test. Good luck finding your game OP. For me, this is the one.

There has been 3 weekends and 2 stress tests in total, I was in them all. The first beta weekend and stress test were before the prepurchase and were invite only. Well, the first stress test was after prepurchase started but it was still invite only.

not entirely true its all about perception honestly. The first nord quest out of the starting tutorial if you go straight to the heart is basically you kill ten skate and their nests , or you put the eggs in their baskets for the raven. Also in the farms in human you destroy about 10 wurms or feed cows. Or Char where you kill about 10 bandits . See what Im doing there? Its just perception of a person and hes not wrong for it. I think the quest system is great myself as I really loved the PQ system in warhammer but lets be honest a quest is a quest and they are all entirely the same , just GW2 is more creative with how they present them to you. Heck one of my buddies is one of the designers in WvW and I let him have it daily about my issues with WvW and he never once lets me have it for being ciritcal.  Its all about perception so why destroy the guy over it?

Good. So that must mean that people posting their negative opinion about GW2 shouldn't be a problem at all even if they create threads for it, since that's completely normal and to be accepted, right?

People never forget to tell others how much they like oatmeal, even though no one cares and yet they decide to babble anyways, it is only fair if those who don't like oatmeal also get their say.

"destroy" "attack" awesome overreacting.  I didn't attack the guy nor did I destroy him. Lets stop being overly sensative. I merely pointed out this dude posted nearly the same thing on the review section and it didn't get that much attention so he posted nearly the same thing here and look he got the attention he was looking for.

Seriously.....

I hear ya! I'm pumped for PS2! I played Planetside 1 for years and years after it's release in 03. And yes BFRs did ruin that game, hopefully SOE doesn't fuck it up again...but I'm sure they will somehow. Let's just hope we get years of fun before that lol. See you on Planetside!

Guild Wars was very bland to me also, felt like every other mmo just with worse graphics. Honestly the armor in that game is terrible. I'm sticking to TERA till Planetside is released and then I will be happy for years(I hope). I can't wait for beta to start because all the PS1 players get in immediately!

I think we should all give a nice, warm good bye for the OP, and then move on. Even if his opinions are slanted, he has the right to say them.

It's not like some negative opinions will suddenly destroy the game or its reputation.

If only everyone was as sensible as you. But no we must attack OP for saying negative things about GW2.

+1 to you my friend.

What's the f****** problem with people on this forum?

"It does nothing for me." Big freaking deal!

Who cares if you don't like it? Don't like it, don't play it.

Nobody tells you to play this game, try it and move on, exit is this way ----->

P.S. I personally don't really like GW2 after the BWEs, but does every living soul have to post a forum topic about him/her not liking it? Keep your opinions for yourself if you have nothing CONSTRUCTIVE to add.

^This, a thousand times, this.

Everyone is absolutely entitled to their opinion, I Just don't want to hear / see you whine about it all the time!  I wonder what the OP got out of this post, if anyhting?  I don't understand why we feel the need to tell perfect strangers how we feel about something, I suppose it's so that you can find common ground with people of like mind?  That or to attract people of the opposing thought to start a little debate?  I duno, ultimately there just seems no real purpose to posts like this...

Or like the one I just made.  That's hypocrisy for ya.

The OP posted nearly the same thing on the review section, generalizing the entire game, saying nobody he knows in real life enjoys the game.  When a gamer is burned out of MMORPG's and then simplifys and stereotypes a great game and then states it'll only be successful because its free to play when anyone who actually learned how to play it and can flat out see the difference; which is glaring to anyone who can open their eyes, just makes me shake my head.

I understand Guild Wars 2 isn't for everyone but when someone starts posting the same silly simplified nonsense in different area's just to try and get more attention, its just well funny...

Why can't you just accept the fact that he doesn't like the game?

No one cares he doesn't like the game.... why don't I go to SWTOR, Aion, AoC, WoW and 30 other forums and write a little rant on how I "don't like their games". Why? Because it's incredibly stupid and a waste of time.

You obviously missed the point completely.

? rofl. Check around.

People do that on this site all the time, every day, day in day out.

I've come to accept it as how a big part of mmorpg.com visitors and posters are, since they love to do that more than anything else

So according to you the majority of mmorpg.com posters - many GW2 fans here incl btw - indulge in incredibly stupid posting that's a real waste of time. Well, you may have a point there

Yes, I'm sure Stayonboard feels it's stupid any time any poster decides go to another game's forums just to say he doesn't like the game.  That was exactly his point.  That behavior is stupid, and this particular example of it is no exception.

Whenever anyone makes such a post, on the GW2 forums or elsewhere, one has to wonder what the point is.  What do they look to get out of such a post?  Often, forum posting consists of a mini-game whereby each poster seeks to elevate himself to the position of right and all others not in accord to the position of wrong.  This seems like such an attempt, except that there is no ground to be gained because so much of the position is contingent purely upon subjective opinion.

Nevertheless, the OP probably still feels like he suceeded in elevating himself to some extent--as surely as he feels validated by his own assertion that "everyone he knows" agrees with him.  It's probably this feeling of validation that causes him and others like him to make such posts.  That's just my guess though.

How is having PvP resembling DAoC and WAR a bad thing? Those are easily some of the best fantasy PvP games ever made. I am going to live for the World PvP in this game.

And a game of this quality being buy to play with no subscription is a game changer. Almost as much as a game like Firefall being F2P. Being a AAA title with this model is going to put a hurt on every MMO on the market. Just think about it. What is the main reason I stop playing an MMO even if I am somewhat enjoying myself? The cost of it. That extra pressure makes it that much easier to leave and quit for good. With no subscription fee it makes it easy to just login when you want and enjoy yourself. If you find you are enjoying yourself, you can buy some things from the store.

This is an MMO game changer because of the quality of the game, as well as the model for making money. It isn't for everyone, so I am not surprised some people don't like it. I know one person who isn't enjoying it, but I am not sure why since they loved WAR and DAoC PvP so much. Either way, I hope you find what your looking for. I don't see how any MMO gamer could pass up this title though, especially for the low cost compared to way worse games (SWTOR for example).

Then again, if you are not a PvP gamer or a gamer that enjoys heavily skill based play, I can see why you wouldn't like this game. I am still laughing at the WoW comparisson. It felt nothing like WoW when I was playing it. It felt more like the original Guild Wars gone FPS/Action game to me. With a little RIFT/WAR public questing thrown in for PvE.

Sure it's the best on of it's kind for a long time, much better than SWTOR but like I said I'm bored of the themepark MMO.

Then we played a different game (as it has been discussed countless times on these forums) If you already "felt you played this before" then we didn't play the same game. I was playing a game called Guild Wars 2, I don't know which game you were playing.

Good luck finding a better MMO that suits your needs. You won't be missed I'm sure of it.

Btw we had 2 beta weekends, I don't know where you found the third one.

Why do the same fans of this game just continue to bash people that do not like the game, your ignorance and arrogance are of the likes I have never seem before. Get over it, this is a very good game but to say it is revolutionary is off base as I am sure those Irate Bees are still around, the runnung bull is back out again and man those centaurs most have a very quick birth rate because they are all back again.

Everything in this game has been done before for the most part, Personal story - SWTOR, WvWvW- DAOC, BGs - Wow, Rift War etc, DEs - Rift, WAR honestly stop acting like this is the greatest thing since fire and take it for what it really is, a good game.

Some people like the game, some don't. The people who don't like the game should move onto another game IMO. Thats what you do with any game.  You dont like it you stop playing it.

What's funny is that if you read the old Age of Conan forums from before it was released, it's almost the same atmosphere as we see now with GW2.

AoC fans verbally destroying anyone who says anything negative about the game.

People regularly saying how epic the combat is and how they'll never be able to go back to other MMO's after playing AoC.

It's really very humorous.

Oh some people here looove to overreact.  The only problem with tixylik post is that it is factually inaccurate, there is ZERO mechanics that push you down a linear path, he pushed himself down a linear path through old habits without even realising it it seems.  Every normal person knows its evolutionary not revolutionary, surely everyone has enough of a brain to work this out by now without getting all upset and wobbly.

rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW (9500 hrs on main mage)> oblivion > LOTR (480 Hunter) > Rift (230 hours mage) > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(850 elementalist)

Now playing GW2/vanilla wow
