I believe in life before death... So dont forget to enjoy it while you still can. |
In this post everyone can post the single best thing they like about GW2 and the single thing they like least.
Now please dont post whole lists of things you like or dislike, just a single thing.
Like : The personal story, with its indepth character building feeling. The personal story makes me feel the character is alive taking valid decisions, while the world she moves through feels like a dynamic place. (this comes from an roleplayers perspective)
Dislike : Everyone plays next to eachother in the open world and obviously not with eachother. There should be a reason to group up and so make contact with others during open world events. Now its just a world filled with single players instead of a community.
Keep in mind that anything goes and is okay, its peoples personal opinions and so they can not be wrong, can they? Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) |

Guna do a reversal on ya here.. Like: Everyone plays next to each other! I don't NEED to invite someone to a group to know that we are likely tackling the same issue at hand. I like knowing that some random stranger may end up being my savior and vice versa. You'd be surprised how chatty people can be the moment you start talkin' to 'em. I've made plenty of friends just by striking up how do ya do's with these people I play next to. ^^ Dislkike: So far, the player stories. They're coming off as contrived little pathways that seem to steer you out of the choices you made at creation so you can get on track with the larger story surrounding the disperate 5 heroes. The Voice acting is B movie grade at best and is imposible for me to take seriously. I haven't personally noticed too many big choices in the personal stories, and the ones I did see didn't make a lick of difference one way or the other, just two means to the same end. |

Like: The sense of freedom to do what I feel like doing and to do it now. Not talking about doing anything I can imagine, but just being able to PvE for a bit and then immediately switch to PvP or WvW at the click of a button. No need for levelling require.
Dislike: That the game still very much feels like it is in beta. Performance issues and various gameplay issues (like my Alt-2 keybind breaking all of a sudden). |

Pro: Amazing art direction and gameplay vision. Con: Class balance in PvP is still wonky, if you try some less obvious builds. |

Like: No quest hubs or quest to-do lists. I'm sick to death of them. I also like the great flexbility each class has, requiring understanding and player skill to play well.
Dislike: The whole dreamy, fantasy feel of the graphics. I know it's a style and I respect that, but I like my textures sharp (and yes I am playing on everything maxed). |

The best: Being able to PvP to my hearts content, whether its jumping into pug team v team, tournaments, roaming, sieges.. whatever.
The Worst: PvE leveling, I absolutely detest the way they have it set up. Being forced to go back and hunt every corner of the map just to catch up with the main quest level every single time really pee's me off. I don't mind the speed but the flow of it is all off kilter. Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them. |

The best: The cash shop. They've fixed up most of the complaints I had with it! Also, they added GLASSES. GLASSES. I bought the big black solid rimmed ones. For 150. Because my GW2 character is a hipster. Really, the cash shop doesn't bug me at all now. They've changed some things in it, but all in a positive direction. That's good, and hopefully that's the trend, that they stay non-evil. Why is this the best? Because it's something that could easily go so wrong and break the game, so if it doesn't, that's great. The worst: No sidekicking up. Seriously. Even if they limited it only to leveling 5-10 levels up or something. I've spent the majority of two BWEs following higher level friends around so I can play with them, and I die so many times that sometimes I feel like my friends should carry mea round in a wheelbarrow.

Like: the event scaling seems to work pretty damn well, events I did where large numbers of other players showed up didn't feel trivialized, they felt bigger and more violent but were still well tuned. Dislike: having played a few classes, the balance of the weapon skills really doesn't feel that good, everyone seems to have several weapon choices that are just far inferior to others. |

Originally posted by Meowhead i agree here. Sidekicking up for just around 5-10 lvls is really something that could be nice. So its not always the lowest friend that limits where to go! and cash shop is done well read how to create a succesfull mmo before posting about GW2. And read tao of ArenaNet before talking about innovation in GW2 |

Like: Gameplay based on exploration, and not quest hubs. Bringing people together without forced grouping. Downscaling so the whole world becomes your playground as you progress. Dislike: my only pet peeve so far is that NPCs run around with "real" robes while female player character casters run around with mini skirts... |

Like: So many different ways to play Dislike: Hard to see (as a melee char) wth is going on when a lot of people attack same target. (Too many effects) He who writes in blood and aphorisms does not want to be read, he wants to be learned by heart. |

It has been said a few times already but I'll repeat it anyway.
Like: Jumping into a DE and suddenly you are grouped up with 5-10 people fighting side by side without the struggle of creating a party. Dislike: The personal story consists of little, independent and not so interesting chapters rather than a nicely fused plot. (as far as I got)
I hope I don't sound like a fanboy but I wanted to add something: Seeing how swtor has epic storytelling and failed badly; maybe the weakness of gw2 is actually a strength? |

WHAT I LIKE 1. Playing next to each other. Now I don't need to stop and waste time grouping with other people into party just to see how everyone go doing otheir own stuff instead of acting like party. I enter some area and help people around me doing stuff. People help each other all the time. It's first time in MMO I saw when 2 players take heat of the stranger just to third can revive him. I was always thinking that party system in 95% of my time is a WASTE. And it was always true. 2. Combat system is great. I was thinking it will be another tab fest but no. It's working very nice. I use attack button and my character target first guy in front of me. I can always change target manualy but I almost never do that because there is no need. 3. Events. Now there is ALWAYS some action. I enter some area and I have always something to do. I enter some location and I know that I can find something there. I'm in some area that is dull and next thing I know - something is happening. Very very nice. 4. Personal story. I think that SWTOR do it better in terms of interaction but except that - it's nice. Something to follow in your journey :) Characters are fine. Stuff change depend of what you choose in character creator etc. Very very nice. 5. Engine - I have kinda old computer. 2 years and even then it was not "cutting edge". It was avarage PC for around 700$. Events full of people, everyone fighting and game runs just fine. And screen is FULL of NPC, enemies and players. Now compare it with SWTOR when few people fighting in Ilum make my PC choke. 6. Races - seriously - beer to whoever design them :) Humans like humans - nothing special there but Norns are very nice. Big dudes that like cold :) Nicely done. Charrs are incredible. They look different, they act different, they run different etc. Too bad we cant try 2 other races in this beta weekend. Only thing that would beat it are wookies and robots in SWTOR :P 7. No KS :) My favorite. Now you CAN help people or others can help you and no one loose anything because of that.
WHAT I DON'T LIKE 1. Items that really help with crafting and some of stuff in item shop :/ Experience boost etc. They were telling us that we will have only stuff that don't make impact on gameplay and don't give advantage to other players. Exp boost for various stuff + item that always get you upgrade from destroying items is not what I expected. 2. Interface need some love. Design is nice but it's still ugly in some places. 3. Lack of mouse look :( It's stupid that I still need to hold that dam right mouse button while playing. (worst) |
