Originally posted by Aerowyn More like level 4, pretty sure the collect apple quest starts at level 4. The funny thing is you can also kill spiders to get credit for that quest as well.
The questing in GW2 is amazing and allows total freedom. Sure its not for everyone but i SUSPECT ITS FOR MOST EVERY ONE. |

Let me say I am having a blast. I use to be Nazgol on here but got so irritated by the haters of SWTOR that I deleted that account. I hated this game with a passion. The haters were right in a lot of aspects about that game, and I was wrrong about that game as I was this one. I loving this game. The combat is tactile. I am still a noob though so I am getting use to having to dodge (I have died numerous time due to this), but you know what it's fun. Most MMOs you pretty much can't die in the starter levels, this one keeps you on your toes. |

Originally posted by The_Korrigan Oh, the irony. Spoken has if doing events won't get boring a few months after launch, unless newer, shinnier ones don't come out. That goes for every dev driven quest mmo. I like both systems, since neither is hub based. I like events for just jumping in and grouping up, but prefer TSW's missions simply because there's finally something more than killing and fetching. There's still lots of it, i know, but having a good amount of puzzles is awesome, IMO. Honestly, i'd LOVE to have both systems in an mmo. |

Originally posted by waynejr2 I PLAYED the game. Yep, nothing more, nothing less. I just checked, I have 170 leather scraps in bank (of the lowest level leather) - just from looting and salvaging. |

All these posts and it all basically boils down to the same thing as Iphone vs Android vs Windows phone. Different package and slightly different interface but they all do the same basic things, yet some will martyr themselves rather than use the competitors' product. For me, it is simply that the game looks way too much like Free Realms. I am the last person that would judge a game so quickly based on graphics, but for some reason I simply can't get past that...and that may be a good thing where the genre is at a point where it is so saturated with choices that someone can choose not to play due to a minor issue like that. |

Is Leather a problem? Really? Then I'll be filthy rich when the game opens, because I have a LOT of Leather. In fact, of most collectible materials. My only real complaint about the game so far is that Dagger Necro builds are much less effective than I thought they would be, Ah, and Shaman's Rookery. Damn that place! |

OP, have you tried each of the races? Maybe a different origin story? I personally felt pretty immersed when I started failing events and having cascades of events changing down the line... but certainly in the starter zones I did not feel that way. When i got a little bored of PvE (I tend to get bored of fighting mobs in general), I hopped into WvWvW and had a ton of fun, then went back to PvE to finish off my story quest in the area I had been in. Dunno, I have really been enjoying it... I hope you can figure out what is boring about it for you so that can change! |

I didn't find the game boring but I didn't see all the innovation that people seem to post about. I got to 30 in a previous beta and it mostly is the same MO, do quests - level. The even system isn't innovative, we've seen that type of stuff in other MMO's. That being said, it will be a solid MMO with a great launch and good retention. |

I cant tell you the last time I really had an awe inspiring experience playing a tutorial. Its easy to not see it, but thats probably what it really is before the game actually opens up.
I played EvE for around 6 months and enjoyed it. But if I judged it entirely on my first few hours of game play I wouldnt have lasted longer than well......a few hours of game play. Plus a lot of people seem to alternatively having loads of fun. In the early stages of the game which says something.
Worst of all, most of these people complaining will probably buy the game and play the daylights out of it anyways. You can get a key with some effort on the net so I hear, but most have had to pre purchase to get into beta. I find that kind of ironic.
