I hope they ramp up the graphics some, they only have directx9 and said that sli isnt supported. The syle is really cartoonish though, not as bad as tera atleast. Why do newer mmo's always gimp the graphics? Let the people with old comps use the lowest settings like the old days. Newer comps can take so much more then this. These fantasy mmos are all going the anime cartoonish route and its really annoying. Game play has been fun though, havent got into pvp yet still trying to get a feel for the game and have been doing the main story. Leveling is taking a good amount of time this way, it seems like they just don't shoot you out of the low areas like alot of games. Im not even at level 10 yet and have been playing a few hours. |

Does the PVP and the game have consequences for achievements/victory or is it just a grats u win? It looked very unconsequencial in the vid I saw and if it is I don't see a reason to bother with it. mmorpg.com/blogs/Xobdnas |

I will say this forum is realitively quite, so people must still be playing, but what I'm hearing from the people who are out is pretty bad. They are making it sound like Gw2 is a thin arcade game. |

Originally posted by nationalcity I understand that, but what they are saying is very different than "I don't like the animations." They are talking about the core game design.
I saw a guy say that he couldn't just follow the story, he had to stop and grind DEs to level up just to continue. That's what swtor did, and it proved to be bad design. |

Originally posted by Amjoco Naw, i havent felt that way with every MMO. I might buy it just because of the no sub fee, but all in all it wasnt really for me.
The PvP had some bonus's and such, but i didn't pay attention. It was like a cluster spam fest when i was playing. just a bunch of people fighting a bunch of people |

I respect your opinion, you see for me the gameplay its totaly the opposite of boring, and graphic there is not much of it exepted on every character but man the Estheic and the amount of detail and style in the world is so amazing,

I hope you get what I'm saying. [mod edit] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns-IIn-DG-c Try to argue this please. Oh also if you quote me and it's to argue my point, if I don't respond it means I haven't been corrected by you and/or I haven't seen it. Remember I don't mind admitting I am in the wrong. Take care :D |

Similar experience here. Hard to keep putting time in it somehow. At least in pve progression which is what I've been doing. Most of the heart events are just trying to do around 20 mobs some damage before they're dead (or walking around with picked up items, scratching your head on what to do with them, putting them down again when you see a mob respawn and fill that meter by killing mobs anyway). I also still feel kind of disconected with my character. Might be the class (hunter) but suspecting it's simply the movement and fairly shallow combat. Loving the art and world design though.

I know a lot of gamers who max their graphics out but still complain the graphics suck, after years of asking the same question and seeing the same answer I concluded that most of these gamers are clueless how to set their settings. The question I always end up asking was, do you have your resolution set to your monitors default resolution like 1920x1080, answer I always got back was omg no thank you the game looks awesome now! Cause many have it set for default the game comes with, many do not change the resolution for you by default when you put all to max settings. Till this day I see players who do this, you would think a smarter gamer would exist by now.

If you see no good or you see no bad in a game, chances are you are bias. |

Not every game is meant for every person. Not every bad either is considered bad in everyone eyes. Its one of those things that varies greatly between people. Personally I'm not all that hyped for GW2 (granted I learned hype is best left out) so its likely making it a bit better that way but its still not that glamorous. The b2p method and the way the game works makes me highly doubt I'd get as much replay value off this game as D3 (Diablo 3 loot giving somthing to do). Yes, complain I'm comparing two different games but the general concept of keeping you playing no matter the genre is very similiar in achieving something. For me you play GW2 and you don't gain more out of it. Since its B2P its not a huge deal but still I don't expect if I buy it I'd find reasons to play it after the first month. |

Well you may not be clueless about the settings part like a lot of people, but it still doesn't help using a 55 inch HDTV for your monitor for PC gaming! The pixels and colors are not the same as a PC monitor, you have better gamut, color, contrast, and levels on a PC monitor than you do on a HDTV screen. Change to a nice monitor and you will see my point. I can play Crysis 2 for example on my nice 28 inch 1920x1200 PC monitor and it looks amazing, then go lay down in bed with my wireless keyboard and mouse and play it on my 48 inch Samsung LED HDTV and it doesn't look as nice.

Originally posted by Jaylanonyous This is my major negative of GW2. The chaotic nature of randomness attached to events, and public grouping, just doesn't work well. I like when things are more organized and a sense of having control of the situation. I've heard it gets better at higher levels though, but that remains to be seen. Of course, there's so many new players right now, and it's a different combat system that steers away from traditional MMO systems, so this also contributes to the chaotic nature.. |

Originally posted by observer I'm the polar opposite of you here. I love that I can just wander into an area and find that something suddenly is happening or has been going on, that there's people there doing stuff and without having to send an invite or anything, we're all working together to tackle the issue. Earlier today I was checking out an area by a busted windmill but was having problems getting too far in myself with my elementalist. Along came a ranger and we took out the mobs and got thru the place, we managed to wander together seamlessly and effortlessly, working in tandem as others would come and go. I guess for me, I like the sense of community, I like that I cannot control everything, imo that leads to a more solo-centric playstyle and for once I feel like I'm actually playing in an MMO. This is a feeling I haven't had in many many years. |

Originally posted by Aerowyn I agree with you, I am running GW2 on ultra on every possible settings and the graphics are very nicely done, love the main human city and the Nord starter area! However,..I'm at a stand still! I Can't figure out WHAT class to play arrg they are all good haha. To the op I can understand where you are coming from, for me personaly I find that the graphics in TSW are ten times better to be honest, but it's a different kind of style, GW2 is done very very well and I am glad that they put alot of focus into the PvE Side of things. Just keep playing it, remember this is a beta not a free trial, and my suggestion is this, if the story does'nt grab you nothing else will, if I were in your shoes I'de stick with fps, but since I am hard headed and have been playing these types of games for well over two decades I can put up with alot of different mmos, because every new mmo , or any game for that matter that I play, it's like playing something completely new, but if you constantly look at how the mechanics vary from game to game you will get bored fast. As I said, my advice to you, give it another go bud!
