I've played both and they really are nothing alike in pretty much every way you could look at it
I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at a store, oftentimes, I will drop it... so that it achieves its maximum flavor potential. --Mitch Hedberg |

I was reminded of Hellgate London when playing the beta weekends too but only a little. Fallen Earth is closer. |

You are mistaken. The most they have in common is that they are both PC games. ;) |

TSW questing made me learn some latin. Did Hellgate do that for you? (i never played it) "I’d rather work on something with great potential than on fulfilling a promise of mediocrity." Tried: AO,EQ,EQ2,DAoC,SWG,AA,SB,HZ,CoX,PS,GA,TR,IV,GnH,EVE, PP,DnL,WAR,MxO,SWG,FE,VG,AoC,DDO,LoTRO,Rift,TOR,Aion,Tera,TSW,GW2,DCUO,CO,STO |

Thankfully they are nothing alike. ...and I mean that as a compliment towards TSW. 1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical. 2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself. 3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose. |

No now that the TSW= DayZ thread is gone....and now the TSW = Hellgate thread has been created...what can i expect tomorrow?? TSW = Diablo 3? i mean they both have zombies (or was that coverd in the dayZ comparison)
edit: LOL @ "slightly better graphics engine..." |

stop writing "the TSW"... ...that is all :) |

If you read the entire sentence you would see that "the" connects with "thread" |

Nothing alike really.. other than the london setting.. but that si only one part in TSW... Plus the graphics engine is tons better.. TSW is probally one of the best looking MMORPGs out there technically.. sure it might not be everyones cup of tea art wise but but people have tera for that hehe..

From what I've played the Secret world offers A+ story and questing, but the combat needs some refining for sure. Hellgate had a diablo style kill/loot questing, and a very different combat system. Played-Everything |

They nearly nailed it for me with TSW,but i just feel the combat is a let down especially when the best thing i liked about AOC was the combat, pretty ironic really.

I would say TSW has it all over Hellgate. Except the combat is so painful if they ripped off Hellgate outright it would be an improvement. Really wish TSW would drop the whole 'no levels' facade when there are most certainly levels, they just don't label them as such. |

Your maxed in power 20% into the game. The other 80% is diversifying.

I would judge the combat in the upcoming pvp beta with pre leveled characters
