I thought it was enough to just have ONE secret world... Tabula Rasa 2, Secret World 2 call it whatever you want, but what is with all these identical games coming out. Do only devs in ArenaNET have a brain to come out with something new? |

The game has possibilities. If they can avoid what Tabula Rasa did and not take out the action to make more like an MMO...it could be great. “I hope we shall crush...in its birth the aristocracy of our moneyed corporations, which dare already to challenge our government to a trial of strength and bid defiance to the laws of our country." ~Thomes Jefferson |

You're exactly right Bill. Even if it was copy-f'ing-pasted exactly from RIFT to Defiance, the gameplay, third person RPG shooter elements make for a different (yet amazing) game. I for one, and alot of other gamers i think, are freaking SICK AND TIRED OF AUTOATTACK>tab-select mob>press 18981203982938> loot it, etc. There are hundreds of games for that kind of stuff, so i think its time we show some love to MMO's like (now dead) Tabula Rasa, Defiance, Dust 514, hell even Crimecraft. |

This game is up there on the top of my list of must buys. Everytime I see something about this game I always think to myself "That's what I would want!"
Really the only thing I can hope for that really Trion has no control over is a strong RP community. I don't think anyone will topple lotro for RPing, but I'd love to RP in this world :) "Well, there was a time when I was quick to judge others based on what little I'd heard. But... traveling with even the worst, slimiest, smelliest of tieflings and no-honor tree-worshipping elves has taught me some of them are all right." -Khelgar Ironfist |

Sounds like another hit for Trion and I'm happy to support a developer like them.
Looking very forward to this title. Einherjar_LC says: WTB the true successor to UO or Asheron's Call pst! |

This has been their omega project since before Rift went into Beta. They've learned alot from that and they're putting all of it into this.
If anyone however is worried about the show, look at who's in charge: Kevin MurphyA veteran writer and producer, Murphy’s credits include Desperate Housewives, Caprica, Reaper, and Weird Science. One of the top names in genre film and television, O’Bannon’s work includes Farscape, Alien Nation, Seaquest DSV, and 2011’s reboot of V. The Executive Producer of Defiance, Taylor has a sci-fi resume that includes Battlestar Galactica, Caprica, and The Dead Zone. Defiance’s director helmed the feature films Priest and Legion, but also has a visual effects resume that includes Iron Man, Sin City, and Superman Returns. Good god in heaven. This is a star studded lineup of people. The show could be one of the best Syfy ever put out. And the Cast? A rather well known line up of actors and a few surprises. I cant wait. But it seems they pushed the launch back. The original date had Syfy Greenlighting this for January 2013. Wonder what caused the delay. |

Very much want. Tabula Rasa was awesome, and TRION are amazing developers. I trust in them to make this a great game. |

I dont think it sounds like Tabula Rasa, at the end of the day TR was just a tab target game that triesd to make you think it had fps style combat.. i mean you would lock onto a target fire and your bullet would follow the target until it hit... Hopefully this will be true fps style combat.. |

I'm not a big fan of FPS style games, but this one has more than enough going for it to warrant an open mind. Syfy, PLEASE make Defiance full episodes available on your website. I don't pay for cable TV because 99% of it is a craptastic waste of money... the other 1% I can watch online.

It's not going to be fps combat. They just stated that the game is a third person shooter. Most likely it will be tab123 combat like rift. They probably borrowed 80% of the code from rift. I love how 70% of the guys who claim to love rift aren't actively playing it anymore. |

Siffee putting out a Sci Fi show? That's very odd. Where will they find time in their lineup, among the wrestling, "reality" shows, "Fear Factor" and AFV knockoffs and wrestling. |

So let's gets this right.. Most are happy it isn't tab targeting and most are happy it isn't autoattack-->18465 type system..
But do most realize fps/third person shooters has one of the most repetitive style of attack.. In some its just shoot, aim and reload.. Seems Dev's have a harder task now than they did 10+ yrs ago, when they all just trying to make a fun title.. most claim for something new, but when something new comes out its become more of a miss than a hit, if your not a well known dev or if it isn't a sequel/prequel to already establish hit.. If this game had tab target I won't be pissed, what would make me pissed is if it isn't fun or has no longevity or things get old quickly.. the part I like is that person in the game can help determine the outcome of certain things in the series, but what happens when the series doesn't get the viewers and closes down, then will syfy pull the plug on the game, since i'm guessing major funds are coming from them to help make the game.. |
