The Guild Wars 2 team will be on hand at Reddit.com to field player and fan questions about the game and this weekend's upcoming beta event. The plan is for the Ask Me Anything event to last three big hours beginning at noon Pacific Daylight Time.

As you may have heard, our next massive Beta Weekend Event kicks off on June 8 at Noon (Pacific). In advance of the Beta, ArenaNet President Mike O’Brien himself is jumping on Reddit for an Ask Me Anything session, starting at Noon (Pacific) on June 6 on the /r/gaming subreddit for three hours. Mike will also be joined by other Guild Wars 2 team members to answer your questions. Got a Guild Wars 2 question for Mike and the rest of the ArenaNet Team? Don’t be shy–they don’t call it Ask Me Anything for nothing!

Does someone mind telling me what that translates to in Eastern time?

Arenanet confirmed in a tweet that what Amazon was doing wasn't allowed.

• If you preordered GW2 at Amazon, you did not pay in full. Amazon only charges on delivery. So it does not qualify as pre-purchase. ^MK

Your concerns are all about release date. The fundamental issue here is that we just don't have a release date right now. We're using beta testing in the traditional sense. When beta testing shows that the game is where we want it to be, we'll lock in a release date.

I'm pumped about what we were able to accomplish for BWE2 and I think you guys will be too when you see it. We're not that far off. We're obviously going to release in 2012, and any statements to the contrary are absurd.

As for the "one month delay" versus "not one month delay", we have to line up distribution and retail sales so obviously we'll announce a release date in advance of the actual release, but we don't have a policy of "exactly X weeks in advance". Aidan was giving his personal take on this. Rubi is correct that there isn't a nailed down number of weeks notice.

They wont say it but I will. I didnt take a bunch of peoples money to hold onto for  a year while I finished the product I was selling.

Hi All. How do I attend to this weekend Beta in GW2 ? I have downloaded the file and have an account. Do I just wait until tomorrow and will be able to login in no matter waht due to it's a OPEN Beta Weekend. No disclussure agrrements signing and such.. So pls comment what you know so far :o)

I don't think it's snarky or even cynical, because the situation does warrant such comments a bit. Ultimately they did take nonrefundable full payment for a product they can't set a release date for.

Though if they manage to release it inside 2012, I think they're good, because that's pretty much all they've promised regarding the release date. But if they don't deliver in 2012, I can see people getting really upset.

Here's a hypothetical question: Let's say we wait for 3 more years, and they're still not prepared to set a release date. What happens? :)

Name one other situation in which the collection of money for a product or service without a delevery date is acceptable. Let alone when in responce to your question about ETA you are given.."It will be this year for sure." Downright criminal in many eyes.

I believe GW2 will be a quality product, but I see tons of posts about how "we" as gamers should stop supporting bad games. I, personally, include poor customer service in the lable of "bad game". Taking peoples money and not even giving them a ship date is VERY poor customer service.

People like me that preordered knew there is NO release date and yet paid for the game. We also knew that release will be somewhere in 2012. Even if they release it 31 - 12 -2012 its fine by me
